From Santa pushing Camels to promises of housewives being "happier with a Hoover" - these ads are a masterclass in "how it started" vs "how it's going" in marketing evolution.

Vintage 💈 Ad Series: The original influencer baby 👶

Artist Dorothy Hope Smith submitted an unfinished charcoal drawing in 1928 of her neighbor's baby to Gerber's contest, offering to complete it. They loved it so much they kept it exactly as it was.

Plot Twist: (In case you didn't know) The baby's identity remained a mystery for FIFTY YEARS... Ann Turner Cook kept it secret until 1978, the 50th anniversary of the sketch.

The artwork was trademarked in 1931 and has remained Gerber's logo ever since. Ann Turner Cook passed away in 2022 at age 95, having spent nearly a century as one of the most recognizable faces in advertising history. 👶
