A month ago, I was bitten by my jumping spider for the first time! They don’t normally bite, but this was 100% my fault. She was enjoying her meal then I was trying to get her to climb on my finger. She started to climb on it then somehow thought my finger was a big worm, then she slowly bit me😂 I started to feel the pain, so I shaked my hand really fast. She finally let go and dropped on my carpet (luckily).

The jumping spider’s venom is not harmful to human, but it actually hurt really bad for around 30 minutes. After that, it was just slight swelling. It was a little itchy for about 2 weeks. It’s now completely healed!

The spider is fine🤍

How to keep your mantis healthy💗
1. Make sure your mantis drink. Internal hydration is as important as humidity
2. Keep your feeder insects clean, feed them fresh veggies. Healthy feeder = healthy mantis
3. Make sure your enclosure has cross ventilation (Top & Side). Your mantis needs good airflow
4. Don’t overfeed. Plumped abdomen = the mantis is full

A lot of people have asked if I have anything available. I do have some stuff BUT I’m scared of shipping them. One time I shipped a mantis to myself from another state, I paid for an overnight shipping around $85, it arrived dead. I was sure I packed it really well. So, I’m kinda still traumatized by that. That’s why I’m not selling anything right now. I ordered mantises online all the time and it never arrived dead but I’m scared of shipping them myself…

Hopefully one day I can get over my fear of shipping live insects💗
