Introducing The Justus Trio, Indie Rock-'n'-Roll, from sunny Queensland. The first offering from Hallowtribe Records coming this summer.

"International songwriter John Justus brings his "unwavering optimism" and alt-rock sound to new life with The Justus Trio. Backed by a powerhouse rhythm section, Sunshine Coast's Bailey Walker on drums and Caleb Reno-Sanger on bass, Justus searches for meaning and revels in hope amid soaring vocals and chunky guitars.

Meeting for the first time in 2023 at rehearsals for Dellacoma’s first US tour in 5 years, Justus, Walker and Reno soon made plans to strike out on their own. After playing over 80 solo shows across the U.S. in 2023, and dozens as a side man for other bands, Justus took a much needed break from music to recharge and reset his priorities.

Encouraged by the drive and enthusiasm of Walker and Reno, some of Sunshine Coast's best, with plenty of accolades in their own right (Sailing in Space, Banned FTC, Treehouse) Justus gets back on the horse with a renewed optimism and fresh sound.

Hey friends 👋 I've been quiet over here as I've shifted to mainly solo and duo stuff this year, and playing with some other bands. Hallowtribe feels kind of like a prototype at this point, a testing ground for my first musical outings. As I develop, I'm getting a better sense of what I want to do more of.

The Society of Gentle People is what I'm currently calling it when I have other musicians joining me, but that feels bigger than a band.

Hallowtribe has always been an idea to me, an umbrella approach to life. To find people who push me and who I can push to build things bigger than we could have on our own. And I'm still doing that, so Hallowtribe lives on. As far as branding and style of music goes, idk yet.

The only band show I'm planning this year, in America, is August 24th for the Black Cat Rising series in Black Cat Alley. I'm very excited for that! Right now it's just billed as "John Justus" but we can call it whatever we want :)

Thanks for caring, much love, and I hope that you are surrounding yourself with a hallowtribe and choosing them everyday.

Hey everyone! If you've been paying attention, you'll know that I (John) have been rolling solo alot recently, and I've just released a new EP "For You, With Love", available exclusively on johnjustusmusic dot com.

Hallowtribe continues as a concept and I've got some big ideas cooking for where it might go, so don't worry about that.
