Since I got back two weeks ago from Vegas I have craved Oscars Las Vegas’ Heirloom Beet Salad! So today I made my own with roasted purple and golden beets, crumbled herb goat cheese, chopped candied pecans and made my own creamy vinaigrette!

As some of my friends know I love to cook and share my talents when I can. So back a few months ago my friend and hairdresser of 25 years Haley Zhea asked me to do her daughters baby shower and since then I’ve done a few and have booked a few different bridal showers, graduating parties and work events here locally for friends that I would like to share.

Hello everyone! My name is Melissa Cyrus! I finally decided after years of friends and family telling me to start a page, do a blog on food, recipes, videos, restaurants, travel and more. Here it is The Gravy Bowl! 🥣

As for the name The Gravy Bowl you ask? Well on one of the many beach trips to Florida that my hubby and I have taken we were sitting on the beach discussing all the places we eat here that are locally owned that we love so much. However, being on the gulf I realized that there’s not really southern cooking down here. The food is excellent that we have but not the comforts of home. If you know my hubby then you know Gravy is something he loves. With that being said you can make numerous gravy’s from different meat of choice gravy, cheese gravy,chocolate gravy, Italian gravy(marinara) and etc…

“Gravy” to me is a food that just takes a few things to make something yummy!
