It’s my oldest son’s 25th birthday today! He doesn’t get as much space as his sister in this feed (since he can’t wear the LN things😜) but he’s pretty amazing. Reminisce with me for a moment: It’s hard to believe how fast he’s gone from a chunky toddler in floaties, to the best big brother, to the outdoor explorer! From a very early age, he craved adventure and the outdoors. He and his friends would explore the local woods and build ramps to jump with their bikes. He even had a short stint with dirt bike racing. He continued to find hunting, snowboarding, and all things outdoors as he grew older. Almost 5 years ago, when he tossed out the idea to move out west to be a raft guide, I blessed him to go. I was fully confident in his abilities. A few summers later he said he wanted to take the summer and hike 500 miles in the Colorado woods alone. (I flinched on the alone part but knew God had him) I did a lot of praying that month while cheering him on! After finishing nursing school, his sights were once again set on Colorado. He landed a job there in the ICU and it’s now become home. Looking back, it’s been a good 25 years! I’ve loved every minute of raising him. Now he’s grown and moving into the next phase of life. He recently got engaged! I’m getting doubly blessed on his 25th year! Happy Birthday, Austin, my son of adventure! I sure love you! (He’s not on ig at the moment, so you will have to show him this post😉)
