Camera Settings Series Part 03
In this engagement session we were scoping .divine.vine garden for their micro wedding. The sun was getting a little high which can start to cause some high highlights and stark shadows. We decided to snuggle up into the garden to compliments the overall composition of the image with the sun at their back. Aperture down at 5.6 keeping ISO low around 125 to compensate for the brighter light.

Camera Settings Series part 02
Personally love the bokeh of a 2.8 focal length. Here I wanted to frame my beautiful subject .urfavrealtor between the reflective building and cutie little circle windows. Placing the setting sun over my left shoulder to cast beautiful golden light on her as she stands over the city where she is undoubtedly a force to be reckoned in the real estate world.

Tomorrow evening we will be back in this space to capture a divinely orchestrated Micro Wedding.
A few months ago I asked Lisa if I could swing by her garden for pics to share about minis coming up in October. During that time we dreamt about hosting a wedding in her garden and left it up to God if that was His Will for the garden.
Fast forward a few more weeks and I get an inquiry for an elopement with easy plans for a courthouse wedding and steak dinner to follow. The future bride mentioned it wasn’t her dream wedding but her dream was to marry her husband and she didn’t care if that fit her fairytale. So we booked the date and sent up prayer for God to make a way.
I mentioned to the bride I had a friend with a garden but wasn’t sure if she would be ready for an elopement. Nonetheless I reached out to .divine.vine and asked if she would be available or even able to host an elopement.
Fast forward a few more weeks and things have developed into a full blown Micro Wedding all by God and His divine nature.
Lisa was available if the bride was willing to move her date. The dress fit perfectly and would be tailored in plenty of time. Hair stylist and make up lined up with the first people we reached out to. Truly divine orchestration. It’s all fallen into place and tomorrow we capture the first Micro Wedding at The Divine Vine Garden.
Glory to God for how GOOD He truly is! When we abide in Him, even the storms can become a symphony. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus.

Did you see the haboob yesterday? Walked outside as the wall of sand approached. We made it inside just in time to turn back and see pure brown as the door closed. Thankful for the little bit of rain that wet down the dust. Those west Texas winds are no joke. Enjoy hair wash day 🤪

Not only were .jones and her daughter bringing this session to life, God showed up with a truly magnificent sunset. All I see is His majesty painted in each of these images between the mother daughter relationship and the gorgeous colorful sky.

Prayer: “God, please guide me to capture what you want me to capture for your glory.” Prompting as I’m loading kids in the car: “Grab your gear.” After too many disobedient moments where I missed a the perfect lighting I’ve learned to listen. Oftentimes it’s quick and seemingly poor timing. But God. He has His Way. I’ve learned to listen and grab the gear. Lifestyle and Branding Photography are my favorite. Particularly when I get to merge the two and branding feels like a lifestyle session. Which means it doesn’t feel like a session at all. Feels like we are hanging out and capturing memories we don’t want to forget.

11•11•23 Grateful for friends that are also our pastor and witness, down for a last minute elopement when God says when. And talented friends like @ashleepattersonphotography who literally jump and run to capture the vision! Started 2023 convinced I’d show my girls Jesus is enough and kick it as a single mom. God said, “Watch this!” The day before we met I woke in the middle of the night to nurse Blythe and opened my Bible to Romans 11:11-32. I felt as if God was bringing me peace showing the girls would be grafted into a cultivated olive tree with rich roots. Little did I know he had a plan for Joseph and I. We both went about life only seeing each other at church and prayer meetings while monitoring each other’s behavior testing whether it was truly from God. We prayed and fasted for God to make a way or shut it down. God has continued to make a way and show up in our relationship. It has been so wild!!!

Family is a true masterpiece. This weekend was so fun! Cookie decorating, Christmas parties, church, a sleepover at Sugie’s, and a full tank of quality time with some of our best friends. Fall mini sneak peeks have been sent! As a kid, I climbed the rock wall and stairs, ran around the trees, and treated Rocky Ford like a personal treasure. Capturing your family loving this space fills my heart! In 2026 Rocky Ford will celebrate 100 years in business. Rocky was my step grandpa who married my wild grandmother most people new as the artist who painted the pieces in the foyer and halls of Rocky Ford. She’s who passed along this love of art and photography. Grateful only scratches the surface.
