I’ve met Jack Russell many times over the years as the frontman for Great White [Band] / Jack Russell's Great White and had the privilege of interviewing him a time or two. I first saw him with Great White opening for KISS on the Revenge tour.

Jack had some major health issues over the years and I wanted to share a part of our conversation about his wife Heather and the gratefulness he felt for so many.

RIP Jack Russell

“I give Heather most of the credit and clearly to God. My wife was by my side the whole time when there was nobody else. My cousin was there as well but my wife was there 24/7. She was in the hospital bed sleeping next to me or in a chair or in the bed with me. That’s all she was doing – working and taking care of me. She’s a wonderful woman and she literally saved my life at least three times. It’s incredible the amount of work and love she put into taking care of me. Can you imagine – here’s this woman who after I had the colostomy surgery and had the colostomy bag for nine months, it was in a place where I couldn’t really reach it to change it myself. She had to change it every time. I have so much love for that woman. She’s a great lady. I’m fortunate and blessed to have her in my life. I also have the fans. I got so many letters and emails of support. That really, really helped me get through some dark moments.”
