Alright rock 'n' roll fans! TONIGHT for the 6-9pm "Needle Drop - radio program" -- I will be doing a lot of "Greatest to Latest" segments, where I play a classic song from an iconic artist, then follow it up with something from that artist's latest release.

Among the artists being featured in such "Greatest To Latest" segments are -- The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Dion, Scorpions, Brian Setzer, Ann Wilson, Jimmy Buffett, Disturbed, Jethro Tull and many others.

As happens from time to time, this weekend's "NEEDLE DROP" radio program on WIMS-AM/FM will have a special guest DJ sitting in with host/producer TOM LOUNGES.

Returning by popular demand this Sunday from 6-9pm will be South Shore Roller Derby team member Spirit Crusher (aka Olivia Kocon), making her third visit to our studio. She will again pull albums from our large WIMS vinyl library, along with bringing LPs from her own collection to play.

This rough and tumble derby jammer loves "rocking" as well as "rolling," and her personality makes her a great radio guest. Along with spinning tunes, Olivia will inform WIMS listeners about the big, end of season South Shore Roller Derby bout she and her team will host on November 4th at the Hammond Civic Center.

"NEEDLE DROP" is heard every Sunday evening from 6:00pm to 9:00pm and is sponsored by Tom Lounges Record Bin with locations in Hobart and Michigan City, Indiana. JOEL JUSTIN of "THE MAD ANTS" to guest DJ on "NEEDLE DROP."

As happens every so often, this week's "NEEDLE DROP" radio program on WIMS-AM/FM will have a special guest DJ sitting in with host/producer TOM LOUNGES.

From 6:00pm to 9:00pm Central, JOEL JUSTIN, the co-founder, guitarist, vocalist and primary songwriter will be in studio. Justin comes fresh from pressing up the latest MAD ANTS vinyl/CD album -- "Mad Ants On The Covers" -- a collection of classic pop/rock covers done in MAD ANTS fashion and style!

During the course of the 3 hours program, listeners will get to hear all ten revisions of songs most everyone raised on rock 'n' roll will know. Remakes on the album to be featured, include songs by The Beatles, Rod Stewart, The Kinks, David Bowie, Spirit, and more.

Like all guest DJs on this program, Joel will pull albums from our large WIMS vinyl library, along with bringing in a few LPs from his own collection. The albums will spin while Tom talks to Joel about rock 'n' roll and his years of writing, producing and playing it.

This show is all vinyl, so we try to play as many requests as possible from our listeners. Send in your favorite artists and songs to Tom Lounges so he can try to get them on the air for you.

Since Tom Lounges Record Bin is the show sponsor, we try to pull albums from the stores to fill requests for future play if we don't have them already in our radio station vinyl library that the BIN has created and donated for the program.
