MAN GIVES HIS ENTIRE SALARY TO A WOMAN WITH A CHILD ASKING FOR MONEY FOR A TICKET — NEXT DAY, A LARGE WHITE LIMOUSINE PULLS UP TO HIS HOUSE.

Greg, exhausted after a day at the construction site, was on his way home when a woman holding a baby at the station caught his eye. "COULD YOU PLEASE LEND ME SOME MONEY FOR A TICKET?" she asked, her voice trembling.

Greg hesitated, feeling the weight of his salary in his pocket. He'd seen people like this before, but something about this woman felt different. She was well-dressed yet slightly out of season. And while she looked weary, the baby — no more than three — was neatly bundled.

Danielle was disgusted, recalling her dad's trembling hands and the occasional drip of saliva that ran down his chin. The man who'd cared for her and loved her had become repulsive to her and she resented him.

One night, I caught her digging through Clara's toy chest. She said she was "organizing," but the next day, Clara's favorite stuffed bunny went missing. A few days later, I found it on MIL's dresser. I was standing in the middle of the room during a staff meeting with my boss. He had just found out I was pregnant and decided it was comedy hour. He kept cracking jokes about the fact that I am pregnant and my boyfriend left me.

I stared at the floor, trying to hold it together. "The father of this baby told me he loved me more than life itself," I said softly. "But as soon as he found out, he ran."

I was seconds away from slapping the look off his face and quitting on the spot, but then it got worse for him. So much worse.

I FOUND A STRANGE ORNAMENT ON OUR CHRISTMAS TREE – THEN MY FIL SMIRKED, "NOW YOU KNOW THE TRUTH."

My husband Liam was supposed to be working late—or at least, that's what he told me. Before he left, we'd started decorating the Christmas tree together. He hung up a few ornaments while I sorted through the boxes, but then he got some "urgent" call from work and had to leave in a rush. I thought I'd surprise him by finishing it myself, so I kept going.
