2024 is the year I came to peace with this: I DON’T HAVE TO.

I don’t have to go out of my way for people who wouldn't do the same for me.
I don’t have to be the bigger person in situations where my peace is at stake.
I don’t have to fix what I didn’t break or take responsibility for things that aren’t mine to carry.
I don’t have to support those who can’t celebrate or support me.
I don’t have to bend over backward to make everyone happy while neglecting my own joy.
I don’t have to explain myself to anyone who isn’t willing to truly listen or understand me.
And most importantly, I don’t have to hold space for anyone in my life who disrupts my peace, drains my energy, or makes me question my worth.

This year, I’ve learned the power of saying no—not just to others, but to the version of me that felt obligated to always do more. Peace, boundaries, and self-love are my priorities now.

Gracious and Almighty God,

As we sit at your feet, we are reminded of the tenacious faith of Stephen, your faithful servant who fearlessly proclaimed Your message.
Lord, we seek the strength to emulate his commitment to You and to the truth of Your Word.

In this era where our convictions and faith can be challenged, ostracized, or silenced, we ask for courage and boldness.
May we remain unshaken, rooted in the firm foundation of Your Word. Grant us the strength to face the challenges that come with being a steadfast believer in today's world.

We are grateful for the example of Stephen's life, and we ask for Your guidance and protection as we continue our journey of faith.
May our lives reflect the resplendent light of Your truth, shining brighter and brighter until the full light of day.
