Let’s Talk About Personal Pages and Business Pages 🤓🧐

Most people think that creating a new personal page is a good idea. In a way it is but you will be missing out on so many perks by creating a business page under your existing personal account.

You can invite your friends to your business page directly from your list of personal friends. You aren’t able to advertise to a wider audience on a personal account. Scheduling lists in advance helps save time when the week gets busy. It’s easier to respond to post and messages when you’re not so frustrated from creating posts in between responses. Customers and book service and buy products directly from your business page whereas this is not possible on a personal page.

As a social media manager, most think this profession is easy. To a certain extent it is BUT we definitely put the time and work in. Another thing people get confused is the fact that social media managers and virtual assistants are NOT the same.

1. As a social media manager, we primarily manage your social media accounts, analytics, respond to messages and comments. Virtual assistants have the same responsibilities but usually are inclined to more like making phone calls, sending emails, and other administrative tasks. Just be mindful of which you need when seeking the two.

2. Although the tasks are fairly easy, when managing multiple clients who each have different needs things can get crazy. Social media managing is a service and providing good customer service is apart of the service. Please be patient with your managers and the same respect will be reciprocated.

3. Although social media managers do all the posting it is important to keep the flow of the account holder. The content and responses should give the same personality of the client. You also don’t want responses that seems automated. It could be a turn off to the audience.

4. One of the BIGGEST misconceptions is the amount of time it takes to manage pages. For most we have business hours for operation. Even when posts are scheduled, time has to be taken out to create and schedule those posts beforehand. Some social media managers also create content so that is even more time put into the service.

5. It definitely matters what times of the day you post. If all the post are done late at night when most people are sleeping you are potentially missing your audience. Most people react and comment on new posts.

6. Content creation is a whole job in itself. It takes time and some creativity. It is unfair to social media managers not to be paid for an extra service. Most time content is created outside of business hours and if you have multiple clients that takes up a lot of time.

These are just a few misconceptions I think would help clients when searching for a social media manager. Since technology is advancing this is an increasing market and most people using this service are artists and business owners. Hope this information is helpful. May you book with the very best. 😊
