Man, I tell you. It's so hard to get everything right. I've been sending everybody to the wrong spotify link (it was marked "SAVE" instead of "LINK". My apologies, everything is set right now, I think.

Btw, I gave up my WIX email and Website, if anybody's wondering. I don't think it did me much good and it was difficult to maintain. I didn't have the patience to learn all the high-tech stuff and don't have a store, so lots of reasons (expensive and it looked terrible).

It's so stupid of me to spend money looking for people who might like my music, especially when I don't make money from my music. It's not going to stop me from making music in the future.

New Edited paragraph. The most important thing to know is that FB, Instagram, Spotify, Soundcloud, Apple Music, whatever, they keep you where they want you and don't provide real exposure unless you pay for it and usually when you stop paying, everybody leaves and goes to the next thing. If you're working these apps for more streams, it seems to be a vicious cycle where you spend any proceeds plus more trying to get a little further. It's a slow ride with lots of hours dedicated to marketing rather than creating music. Just my feelings. 🥕

I feel like writing so... a little about my music lately. The Stars and The King are both in the easiest keys there are, the key of C. The chords used were am-F-C-G. A few of my other songs use the same chord progression (Ready Set Go!, Robin Hood, I'll Be There). All of these songs sound quite different from each other.

Bitter Wind, my next song (I shouldn't be talking about that, my New Release was yesterday!) will be similarly quite simple (i-iv-V-vi VII-i or slight variation). This will be the first time Ataraxia Music (ME) will exploit the Electric Guitar, using the EG for melodies and coloring throughout. I also will incorporate real drumming (ME again) as opposed to dragging drum samples.

I quantized the drums where it was needed, corrected a few notes, used particular sections twice with variation, played most of the keyboards and programmed some as well including a processed keyboard that sounds like a guitar for one of the solos. It has a different feel from my usual because I'm playing Guitar & Drums. It's a car chase type of song, fast paced and hopefully will keep you involved.

Mitxoda was kind to include me in his wonderful newsletter that came out yesterday and I thank him for that. He announced Bitter Wind for me and my other upcoming song, "Carried Away" coming on Valentine's day. A slow one, a little hip-hop and passionate. I get deep on this one, it's really a mellow and pretty song. I don't expect anyone to go wild over this one either, but I hope everybody who listens enjoys the song.

The King 🤴as you may know has been released. I'm including the link below for convenience. I'll be trying to create the whole Kingdom's court this year with "Joker" coming out in late FEB and "The Queen" coming in May (for Mother's Day).

1 more thing. The DEMO for "JOKER" is so good, I've been thinking of not MIXING it. I've found that every song I've created sounds better with a good mix. So, that's my next project, to try to make it sound better than the DEMO. I'll be working on that for you over the next couple of weeks.

Go Big! The King🤴

It’s all in Fun and I hope it is entertaining to everyone.

Originally, I didn’t realize the music had a romantic element until I started making the video. It’s certainly a stretch of the imagination to think all of the Kings in the video are the same person, and, just so you know, I use the cheap AI, not the kind of AI you pay for.

Serendipity is a big component in my music and video creation. Once I get started things seem to fall in place quite easily. For example, a few days ago, prior to making the video, I had no idea HOW I was going to make a Video about “The King.” Pictures and a few short clips was all I had when I started. I started loading those into iMovie and before long, I had a little storyboard. From there I just paid attention to detail. What’s interesting to me is I noticed the king was stripping down as the music gets more and more stripped down. That is an example of the Serendipity that follows my work. After that, all I I had was the chubby king stuff and thought, what if it was the same person only twenty years later?

I used to live in Southern California and have seen areas in California ravaged by fire. Luckily, I didn’t live there during big fires in my area, but I’ve seen films that show the areas I used to drive in surrounded by flames. It truly is devastating for people who have lost their homes. I still have nightmares seeing that stuff. Respect goes to FIRE FIGHTERS all over, in particular those fighting the fires in Southern California PLEASE SUPPORT FIRE FIGHTERS AND THOSE AFFECTED BY S. CALIFORNIA WILDFIRES (see links):

I’ve been around for a while. It's taken me a long time to get the point where I actually want to promote some of my music. The quality of my music seems to be improving with experience. Learning how to mix music was my biggest breakthrough.

I’ve never been great at business or selling my music, but I still love making music. I'm in a world of my own when I'm listening to the story the music presents to me. All I have to do is arrange it right. Once it's arranged in the right sequence, it's all about the icing and making things dance (compressors).

I have to keep on keeping’ on and that’s they way life is. You have to do what you love. I don't love business and don't want to be looking for numbers and likes on social media or answering every post. I'll lose it like I've lost it before and lose the desire to hit three pointers. I don't do that. Just keep going.

To be honest, I am not the best video creator. For me, it’s all about the music, but I try my best to make a good video too. My videos rarely get a great audience. The way everything’s going, creators don’t make much money anyway. So what are you in it for? I’m in it for the music and entertaining my followers.

You know, if you get me in the room, we can jam out or I can contribute a few tracks, maybe write a few bars, come up with cool chord progression or beat. I'd love to work with a great drummer or collaborate with the right singer. Logistics are one thing but a match of musical personality is another.

Tell you true, I'd love to work with Arianna Grande. That may sound weird, but I truly love her voice.

I had a little time to share with you since I've been ignoring social medial for a number of days. I felt pressure to get "The King" 🤴 out the door after the holidays so I went into mixing mode.

'The King' is a fun song. It expresses what I wanted to express. It's joyous, bombastic, fun, even pretty. I've included a few dubstep raspberries to help bring the King back down to earth from his high horse. There seems to be an urgent crisis the King and His Men deal with and the audience goes wild.

After mixing "The King," I mixed the next song for end-January called, "Bitter Wind." This is the first song (in a long time) where I play Electric Guitars, Piano, Synths and Drums (along with FX samples used somewhat sparingly). It's a CAR CHASE, with a middle eastern feel. Could be a desert, horseback, sabre dance. It's always hard to describe music.

And for Valentine's Day! ❤️

A song called "Carried Away." I've been working on this one gradually and decided recently to release it. My son and I were in Portland, Oregon listening to music on a relatively cheap speaker and I noticed how the better mixes put the kick and snare out front. Well, that was the problem with this one and once I corrected that and moved the music up a little (pushed the vocal back), it all fell into place. It's chill, the vocal is from a long sample, re-timed by click and drag. The music and arrangement is my interpretation of how it all should go down.

I believe the song "Carried Away" has an expressive emotive and may be close to a dunk, if not a three pointer.

Mixing 'The King' today, for January 17th.

It's a generic King. The song doesn't represent any individual, ruler, or President. Roughly, you could say the first King in Game of Thrones, if you absolutely need a model.

It's a robust, joyous song. You could say it's a comedy, or even a travesty in a song. I wanted to make it fun, and all I want is to do is entertain my listeners. So... here is another of my attempts to entertain you. If you never hear the song, you will never know if you like it. Pre-save will be coming soon (as soon as I finish mixing it).

My hope is that my music brings a new sound to the ideal, classic figure, that of 'The King."

So... I haven't done MUSIC FROM THE FILES🤣in a while. This one is called "Night Breeze" and the date on it says 8/7/20 but I know I was working on this for a long time. This may have been the best version I could come up with and left it at that.

For you guitar lovers, I do play a little of my old beach classical on it. Mostly melody.

First time sharing this. Let me know what you think. To tell you true, even though I have things lined up, I still have no idea what you nice peeps want! Still looking for it.

In the meantime, I'll try pleasing myself (oh, no! That sounds weird!!!). I mean, I'll keep releasing what I think is what is pleasing to MY ears, ok? 🙏
