TUTV's second annual Golden 'Bo's are happening on Saturday, April 27th at 5PM in Barnum LL08. This is a Tufts version of the Oscars! Submit films using the link in our bio. Anyone is welcome to submit a film, regardless of experience! Formal attire is encouraged. There will be snacks, a red carpet, a photobooth, and performances! Be there or be square. 🐘🏆🎬💙

Join TUTV in our very first 24-HOUR FILM CHALLENGE!!! 😴🎥🎞️

TUTV’s 24-Hour Film Challenge is our first club project of the year! This Saturday, participants will be thrown headfirst into our amateur filmmaking showcase.

For those interested, please fill out this form and meet in Curtis Hall at 11:30am on Saturday, Sep. 16th. There, we will debrief on the guidelines and send people off to make movies! Films should be shot on your cellphone and prepped for our screening on Sunday, September 17th in Tisch Room 304. You may work in a group or solo.

The Golden Bos is an end-of-the-year student film festival hosted by TUTV that is open to all Tufts students. 2023 marks the 1st Annual Golden Bos.

We invite everyone in the Tufts community to submit their videos by Wednesday, April 26th at 11:59PM. The link to submit films is in our bio!

Please join us for a screening and an awards ceremony on April 30th at 6 pm in Barnum LL08! There will be free snacks and a red carpet event. We will share more details about the event in the coming weeks.

We are very excited to watch your films and celebrate your achievements!

MEET THE BOARD (Day 6)! Kayla Avitabile is our Station Manager🍿

Kayla is a senior double majoring in Film & Media Studies and American Studies. She grew up in New Jersey, but now considers MA her home. She joined TUTV the fall of her freshman year after her FMS 30 TA (and former TUTV station manager)’s persuasion. Since then, she’s joined in on many club projects, including heading a current collaboration with Melisma Magazine featuring members’ favorite quarantine tunes. Kayla has been the Head of Music for the past two years at TUTV and is STOKED to be the Station Manager this year to help in-person production flourish once again! She has found a strong sense of community in TUTV and admires the atmosphere it creates to encourage artistic expression.

In her free time, Kayla loves to chill in her bed and watch YouTube, some cheesy and some not so cheesy flicks, and write angsty songs. She has performed as a singer-songwriter since she was 13 and loves anything that combines music and other media.

She is excited to expand TUTV production, particularly live production, with our brand new switcher and offer learning opportunities for any of those interested in film and TV!

MEET THE BOARD (Day 5)! JJ Stewart is our Programming Manager 🎬

JJ is a senior, double majoring in Film and Media Studies and Computer Science, and has been in love with content creation since he was a kid, making Minecraft videos in his basement in New Jersey. He is extremely excited for one last year of filmmaking shenanigans through TUTV, having joined his freshman fall semester in 2018 and served as Head of News and Treasurer since then. He’s worked on a few TUTV projects, including HorrorFest, Pocket Docs, The Athena Project, Strange New World, and Bosfeed. Currently, he is serving as the project head for QUEST and is editing Caged Animals!

TUTV has become an extremely important creative outlet and community during JJ’s time at Tufts, and he’s ready to continue helping other members find similar joy through TUTV! If you want to talk about anything film or writing, whether it’s how to format a script, advice on leading a TUTV project, your latest story idea, or the underrated horror masterpiece on Syfy known as Channel Zero, then JJ is happy to talk! JJ is also involved with Major: Undecided Sketch Comedy, Traveling Treasure TRUNK, and Tufts Burlesque, if you are curious about those clubs.

MEET THE BOARD (Day 4)! Kaycee Feldman is our Treasurer 💰

Kaycee is a junior double-majoring in Film & Media Studies and Physics (because she wants to make movies about space, apparently.) Hailing from the small town of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, just outside of Philadelphia, she has had a passion for storytelling since childhood and could often be found binge-watching behind-the-scenes videos for movies on YouTube. She joined TUTV during her first year at Tufts and became the Head of Scripted in her second. Now, she is the Treasurer and is excited to support her peers in their filmmaking endeavors.

In her free time, she can be found writing sci-fi/horror stories and drawing for them. In the future, she hopes to convert her stories into screenplays and create an animated series with them. Since she is a nerd, she unsurprisingly plays video games and tabletop roleplaying games such as Dungeons & Dragons.

She also works as an assistant to the Film & Media Studies department and publishes the biweekly Internship Digest, so she can help you with any internship-related questions. Kaycee’s favorite movies include The Prestige, The Silence of the Lambs, and The Matrix. She will eagerly watch them with anyone who wishes to see them.

MEET THE BOARD (Day 3)! Eliseo Vigil is our Head of Scripted 🎥

Eliseo Vigil is a junior majoring in Film and Media Studies. He was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. He first became interested in filmmaking after a teacher lent him a cinematography book in high school. He joined TUTV in his sophomore year but couldn’t participate fully due to academic obligations, but this year he’s looking forward to Shot Through the Heart and other productions!

In his free time, you can find him at the gym or at Dewick indulging in obscene quantities of cookies. Often he’s reading comic books, almost exclusively those from DC, or working on story treatments and scripts for various personal projects.

MEET THE BOARD (Day 2)! Grace Ye is our TUTV Head of Music 🎶

Grace is a sophomore majoring in Computer Science and Economics. She joined TUTV during her freshman year, where she started by working on a Horrorfest film with other club members. Later, she started a variety show called Truth to Who Dunit and created a music video with fellow filmmakers and musicians from TUTV.

As Head of Music for TUTV, Grace is excited to continue club-wide music projects such as MTUTV and Tufts Unplugged, and she would love to start some new club-wide music project ideas as well. In her free time, Grace loves to make her own songs, often collaborating on tracks with fellow classmates at Tufts. She is looking forward to this coming year, where she’ll be able to continue making music and making videos, as well as expand TUTV Music and be a mentor to those who are creating music film projects at TUTV.

MEET THE BOARD! Leighton Gray is our Head of News 📰

Leighton is a junior from Concord Mass majoring in History and English. He got his start in film during middle school, when he edited free YouTube effects into clips of his friends, so that they dodged missiles and dove away from explosions.

He joined TUTV freshman year and enjoyed his time working on club projects, and is happy to continue helping club members with their projects as the Head of News. In his free time, Leighton can be found biking, playing video games, and looking forward to the next season of the Mandalorian. He loves stories, and is often listening to audiobooks during all of these activities.

You need 0 production experience to join! We are a club devoted to creating a space for students to express themselves artistically and learn production skills from using DSLR cameras, using video editing software, learning to record audio and much more! We will discuss our current projects, upcoming opportunities, our favorite media as of late and screen some content TUTV has made in the past.

Snacks and Drinks will be provided at the GIM! When you get to Curtis Hall, a TUTV e-board member will be in the lobby to let you upstairs to our space. We hope to see you there :)
