Happy spring dear friends! We are in spring cleaning mode here at the shop. Progress in the shop is dependent on time to get things done. Please know we just don't have space for books and likely for the next several weeks. Thank you for understanding. We have big plans here and will be working hard to accomplish our to do list!

UPDATE 03/18: The below suspect has been identified. Thank you for all the tips!

Drive-by shooting and robbery arrests
March 14th, 2024

MARYSVILLE, Wash. — In the early morning hours of March 12th, officers responded to multiple 911 calls of gunshots heard in the 12100 block of State Ave. Callers were able to describe that the shots were coming from a vehicle, and officers were quickly in the area. Patrol officers stopped the suspected vehicle and detained two adult male suspects. During this stop, officers soon realized that the vehicle and at least one of the suspects were involved in two 7-11 robberies that occurred the prior week in Marysville.

After interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence, these two detained suspects were arrested for drive-by shooting and the vehicle was seized for a search warrant. No one was injured in the drive-by shooting, though several apartments were hit by gunfire.

Marysville PD detectives were then able to link the vehicle and one of the suspects to the two 7-11 robberies. This suspect was charged with two counts of Robbery in the 1st degree, in addition to the drive-by shooting charge.

A search warrant was served on the suspect vehicle on March 13th and a firearm was located. This firearm was suspected to have been used in both robberies and also the drive-by shooting. The firearm found is commonly referred to as “ghost gun,” as it appeared to be a Privately Made Firearm (PMF) without a serial number.

Our agency is requesting public assistance in identifying the second involved robbery suspect. If you can identify this suspect, please call 425-760-2540.

UPDATE- 8 a.m. Thursday, March 7: Due to rain in the forecast, the southbound SR 529 closure near Marysville has been postponed. We need dry weather in order for the concrete we're paving with to cure properly, and Mother Nature has other plans. The closure is now from 11 p.m. on Friday, March 15 through 5 a.m. on Sunday, March 17, weather-dependent.

ORIGINAL POST- 12 p.m. Tuesday, March 5: Planning a trip out of Marysville toward Everett this weekend? I-5 will be your friend. From 11 p.m. on Friday, March 8 through 5 a.m. on Sunday, March 10, all lanes of southbound SR 529 between 1st Street in Marysville and the southbound I-5 off-ramp to southbound SR 529 will be closed for construction. The southbound I-5 off-ramp to southbound SR 529 (exit 198) will remain open. If you need get to Everett via southbound SR 529, the detour is to take SR 528/Fourth Street and southbound I-5 back to southbound SR 529. There are no scheduled lane closures on I-5 through this area, so expect minor delays.

While we’re closing southbound SR 529 through this small stretch, we’ll complete more paving work on the roundabout for the I-5 - NB Marine View Drive to SR 529 - Corridor and Interchange Improvements project. Concrete needs a good amount of time to cure, which is why we need more than just an overnight closure. The new roundabout, along with two new ramps (a northbound I-5 off-ramp to SR 529 and a southbound SR 529 on-ramp to southbound I-5), and an extended northbound I-5 HOV/carpool lane between Everett and Marysville are all scheduled to open late next year.
