The church life is the threshold of the kingdom. As long as we are living in the church life, we are ready to take one more step to cross the threshold into the kingdom, the New Jerusalem, which is called the Paradise of God. In the Paradise of God, we can enjoy the tree of life for one thousand years. After the thousand-year kingdom, we will be in the new heaven and new earth as the New Jerusalem. The New Jerusalem in eternity includes the overcomers and all the dear saints whom God perfected during the thousand-year kingdom. I hope that all of us will be included in the race of overcomers. We all need to be the triumphant ones.

Among the various created life, the most wonderful is the human life. Contrary to the opinion of many , the angelic life is not more wonderful than the human life. God did not ordain the angelic life to contain the divine life. Rather, He created the human life to be the vessel for the divine life. Although you may consider yourself inferior than the angels, God considers you better than angels. Nevertheless, subconsciously some, may desire to be angels. The Bible , however, does not speak of God's love for angels, but it reveals His love for man.

The Word of Authority

Bible Verses

Luke 7:2 And a certain centurion's slave, who was highly valued by him, was ill and about to die. 3 And when he heard about Jesus, he sent to Him some elders of the Jews, requesting that He would come and completely heal his slave. 4 And when they came to Jesus, they entreated Him earnestly, saying, He is worthy of Your granting this to him, 6 And Jesus went with them. But already, when He was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to Him, Lord, do not trouble Yourself, for I am not fit for You to enter under my roof; 7 Therefore, I did not count even myself worthy to come to You. But speak a word, and let my servant be healed. 8 For I also am a man set under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my slave, Do this, and he does it. 9 And when Jesus heard these things, He marveled at him, and turning to the crowd following Him, He said, I say to you, Not even in Israel have I found such great faith. 10 And when those who had been sent returned to the house, they found the slave in good health.

Words of Ministry

The centurion [above] seemed to be saying to the Man-Savior, "Lord, I am not worthy to come to see You or for You to come to my house. Yet I know what authority is. I am under the authority of others, and others are under my authority. All I need to do is speak a word to one of the soldiers, and he does what I say. I know, Lord, that You are the authority in this universe." The centurion also knew the significance of a word of authority. This was the reason he could say to the Man- Savior, "Say a word, and let my servant be cured" (v. 7). He knew authority and the word as the expression of authority. The centurion's slave was in fact healed by the word of the Man-Savior. The Gentile centurion recognized the authority of the Man-Savior and realized that His word was a word with healing authority. Thus, he believed not only

Christ's Death and Resurrection Brought in Jubilee
Bible Verses
Luke 9:20 And He said to them, But you, who do you say that I am? And Peter answered and said, The Christ of God. (22) Saying, The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised.

Words of Ministry
The realization that Jesus is the Christ is also related to the jubilee. There could not be a jubilee without Christ, without the One appointed and anointed by God. Immediately after the Lord was recognized as the Christ, He spoke to His disciples concerning His death and resurrection. Now we need to see that we cannot have the jubilee without Christ's death and resurrection. Apart from the death of Christ, there would be no way for sinners to be released. Apart from the resurrection of Christ, there could not be the recovery of the lost right to enjoy God. Christ's death has released us from sin and from Satan. According to Hebrews 2:14, Christ destroyed Satan through His death. If He had not destroyed Satan, how could He release us from Satan's usurping hand? If the Lord had not destroyed Satan through death, He could not have released us from him. Our release from bo***ge is absolutely due to the all- inclusive death of Christ, a death that has released us from sin and Satan. It is only through the resurrection of Christ that our right to the enjoyment of God is recovered. When we believe in the all-inclusive, victorious death of Christ, we are released from sin, Satan, and ourselves. When we remain and live in the resurrection of Christ, we have the recovery of the right to enjoy God. This is the jubilee. Christ with His death and resurrection has brought in the jubilee.

Overcoming by Praising
Bible Verses
Psalm 34:1 I will bless Jehovah at all times; His praise will continually be in my mouth. 42:11 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I will yet praise Him, The salvation of my countenance and my God. 1 Cor. 10:10 Neither murmur, just as some of them murmured and perished by the destroyer.

Words of Ministry
God's children should open their mouths to praise Him, not only when they are free from problems, hurts, wounds, or difficulties, but even more when there are problems and wounds. When one lifts up his head in these situations and says, "Lord, I praise You," his eyes may be filled with tears, but his mouth will be filled with praise. His heart may be in pain, but his spirit will still praise. His spirit will soar as high as his praise. He can ascend with his praises. Those who murmur are foolish. The more they murmur, the more they are buried under their murmurings. The more they complain, the more they sink into their complaints. The more they allow their problems to overtake them, the more exhausted they become. Many people...strive and struggle to get out of their situations. Even though their circumstances and wounds try to bury them, they try to get out by prayers. But there are also times when prayer does not work. Nothing seems to be able to deliver them until they praise. When you put yourself in such an overcoming position, you immediately transcend everything, and no problem will be able to bury you. Sometimes you may feel that something is trying to run you over. But as soon as you praise, you will come out of your depression.

Being Blessed by God

Bible Verses

Luke 6:21 Blessed are those who hunger now, for you shall be satisfied. Blessed are those who weep now, for you shall laugh. (22) Blessed are you when men hate you and when they separate you from them and reproach you and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of Man's sake. (23) Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for so their fathers did to the prophets.

Words of Ministry

Luke 6:21a speaks of spiritual hunger. First we realize that we are poor in spiritual things, and then we hunger after the things we lack in the spiritual realm. The Lord says that those who hunger now will be satisfied. When we hunger, we shall be filled. We shall be satisfied with the spiritual riches of Christ. In 6:21b the Lord Jesus says, "Blessed are those who weep now, for you shall laugh." This is the third characteristic of those who are blessed by God. In this verse to weep means to repent and to regret. To weep in this sense means that we are not happy about our spiritual situation and condition. Therefore, we regret and repent and desire to have a change in our spiritual condition. In verses 22 and 23, we see that it is a blessing to be hated and reproached for the sake of the Son of Man. We, however, like to be praised by others and to be valued, honored, and highly regarded by them. We need to realize that believers will be hated and evil spoken of by the world. The reason for this is that the entire world is following Satan, and we are following the Lord to go in the opposite way. Because our way is opposite to that of the world, the worldly people will hate us and speak evil about us.

Healing the Paralytic
Bible Verses
Please read Luke 5:17-26 Philippians 2:6 Who, existing in the form of God, did not consider being equal with God a treasure to be grasped, (7) But emptied Himself, taking the form of a slave, becoming in the likeness of men.

Words of Ministry
In the case of the healing of the paralytic (5:17-26), we also see the Lord's divine attributes expressed in His human virtues. In 5:20 He said to the paralytic, "Man, your sins have been forgiven you!" When the scribes and Pharisees heard this, they began to reason, saying, "Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?" (v. 21). The Lord Jesus exercised His divine authority to forgive the paralytic's sins and His divine power to heal him. But in this case we also see the exercise of the Lord's kindness, which is a human virtue. Therefore, in this case also the Lord's human virtue expresses His divine attribute. Luke 5:24 says, "In order that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on the earth to forgive sins--He said to the paralyzed one, To you I say, rise and pick up your cot, and go to your home." The Man-Savior was the very God incarnated, not regarding equality with God a thing to be grasped. He was outwardly in the likeness and fashion of man, but inwardly He was God (Phil. 2:6-7). He was the Man-Savior and the God-Savior as well. Hence, He had not only the ability to save sinners, but also the authority to forgive their sins. In this incident, He forgave the paralytic's sins as God, but asserted that He was the Son of Man. This indicates that He was the true God and a real Man, possessing deity and humanity. In Him, men can see both His divine attributes and His human virtues.

Jesus, Possessing Wisdom and Grace

Bible Verses

Luke 2:40 And the little child [Jesus] grew and became strong, being filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon Him. Colossians 2:3 In whom [Christ] all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden.

Words of Ministry

Verse 40 says that as the Man-Savior was growing, He was being filled with wisdom. This wisdom, which came from the Savior's deity, was revealed in proportion to the measure of His bodily growth. Verse 40 also tells us that the grace of God was upon Him. As a Man, even Jesus needed the grace of God for His human life. He was filled with wisdom from His deity, and He needed the grace of God for His humanity. As God, the Man-Savior did not need grace. However, as a Man He needed the grace of God. Therefore, we are told in verse 40 that the grace of God was upon Him. As human beings, we all need God's wisdom and grace. Wisdom is related to the way of doing things, and grace, to the power, the ability, to carry out those things. In our living we first need the way to do a particular thing; then we need the power to do it. Wisdom is the way, and grace is the power. We need wisdom in order to have the proper way. However, wisdom itself is not enough. We also need grace. If we do not have grace, we shall not have the power, strength, or energy to carry out a certain matter in the proper way. But we may have God's wisdom for our way and God's grace for our power, strength, and energy. The Man Jesus lived in God's wisdom and grace.

Recover Back to the Enjoyment of Christ

Bible Verses

Revelation 2:7 ...to him who overcomes, to him I will give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God. 2:17 ...to him who overcomes, to him I will give of the hidden manna... 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him and he with Me.

Words of Ministry

[In Revelation] Christ, the Head of the Body, came in to call the overcomers to overcome the degraded situation. The overcomers in Revelation do not simply overcome sin, the world, and the flesh; they especially overcome the degraded situation in which the clear view of the all-inclusive Christ has been lost. The problem in today's degraded situation is that many things are replacing the all-inclusive Christ. We need to turn from all replacements and come back directly to the all-inclusive Christ as our tree of life, our hidden manna, our feast, and our everything. We need to come back to this One in the way of enjoyment, not merely in the way of doctrine. We need to return to Him not only in the way of knowing Him objectively, but in the way of enjoying Him as the tree of life, the hidden manna, and the feast. This is a transfer out of old degraded religion into an up- to-date recovery, a recovery of the enjoyment of the all- inclusive Christ. We need to have an overall view to see today's degraded situation and also to see that the Lord's intention is to bring us back to Himself so that we may be fully recovered to the enjoyment of Him. Our need today is to experience a transfer from degraded religion to the reality of the all-inclusive Christ in the way of enjoyment.

Christ is Far Superior
Bible Verses
Hebrews 3:1 Therefore, holy brothers, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Jesus, 12:2 Looking away unto Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down on the right hand of the throne of God.

Words of Ministry
In Hebrews we see that Christ is far superior to everything in Judaism. In Judaism there is God. According to Hebrews 1, Christ is the very God. Furthermore, in Hebrews 2 we see that Christ is also man. The God in Judaism is merely God, but the God in the New Testament is both God and man, the God-man. As such a God-man, Christ is superior to the angels, another important item of Judaism. Furthermore, the book of Hebrews reveals that Christ is superior to Moses, Joshua, and Aaron, the priest. According to the book of Hebrews, the new covenant enacted by Christ is superior to the old covenant enacted by Moses (8:6- 13), and Christ's unique sacrifice is superior to the old sacrifices (10:9-10, 12, 14). God now cares only for Christ's unique sacrifice, which has terminated and replaced all the Old Testament sacrifices. In the book of Hebrews Paul presents a clear picture showing us that the Old Testament things are over. What remains now in God's New Testament economy is Jesus Christ, the all- inclusive One. Having seen such a view, Paul could not tolerate a mixture of such an all-inclusive Christ with the inferior things of the out-of-date, Old Testament economy.

A Summary of the Revelation in the Bible (1)
Bible Verses
Ephesians 1:5 Predestinating us unto sonship through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, (9) Making known to us the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Himself, (10) Unto the economy of the fullness of the times, to head up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens and the things on the earth, in Him;

Words of Ministry
[Part 1 of 2] The Bible reveals that God had an eternal plan and that this plan eventually became His economy. God's plan is to have a group of human beings who are regenerated with the divine life become His sons and the members of Christ so that the Triune God in Christ may have a Body through which to express Himself. God's plan is accomplished through Christ's incarnation, human living, and all-inclusive death to terminate everything of the old creation so that He may germinate His chosen people in resurrection. In His resurrection Christ became the life-giving Spirit (1 Cor. 15:45) so that He may propagate Himself as the processed Triune God to produce the Body. After His resurrection Christ ascended to the heavens, and there He was made the Lord and Christ (Acts 2:36). In His resurrection the Lord had already breathed Himself as the Spirit into His chosen people essentially (John 20:22). Then in His ascension He poured out Himself as the all-inclusive consummated Spirit upon them economically. Therefore, everything has been fulfilled and accomplished: incarnation, human living, the all-inclusive death, the life- giving and propagating resurrection, the breathing of the life-giving Spirit essentially, the ascension, and the pouring out of the consummated Spirit economically. Because all this has been accomplished, the church has been produced. [Continued tomorrow]

Leaving the Old for the New Testament Economy

Bible Verses

Acts 21:20 ...You observe, brother, how many thousands there are among the Jews who have believed; and all are zealous for the law. (21) And they have been informed concerning you that you are teaching all the Jews throughout the nations apostasy from Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children, nor to walk according to the customs.

Words of Ministry

To leave the law of Moses, not to circumcise, and not to walk according to the customs of dead letters are really according to God's New Testament economy. But these were considered by the unbelieving Jews and even by the Jewish believers in Christ to be apostasy from God's Old Testament dispensation. It certainly is not apostasy to put aside the Old Testament economy. Rather, that is part of the carrying out of the truth. Nevertheless, James and the other elders used the situation among the thousands of believing Jews in Jerusalem in order to persuade Paul. Those believing Jews who had been instructed concerning Paul were correct as to the facts, but they were mistaken in accusing Paul of apostasy. In the Epistle to the Galatians Paul clearly says that the law has been put aside, and that he is dead to the law: "I through law have died to law that I might live to God" (Gal. 2:19). This means that Paul no longer had anything to do with the law. For him to have died to the law means that the obligation under the law, the relationship to the law, was terminated. The Jews were right regarding the facts, but they twisted the facts by accusing Paul of teaching apostasy. Apostasy is a matter of heresy. Paul's departure from the law was neither apostasy nor heresy; it was the practice of the truth of God's New Testament economy. However, the opposers took the facts and twisted them.
