Making the Improbable, Possible.

Redux Extra spoke with Claire Collins, to get the story about her experience in Tokyo and how she trained for most of her childhood, for a chance to achieve the ultimate experience for any athlete. We are a world out of balance. The pandemic has driven us into isolation where we depend increasingly on our screens – our computers, our phones – for more and more aspects of our lives.

But while these tech tools have allowed us to continue to work and communicate, they have also led to an unhealthy addiction that has negative physical, emotional, and psychological impacts. Nowruz can restore physical and psychological health by reminding us of “the need in man to return and rediscover nature.” 1 And when we rediscover Nature, we can also rediscover the wisdom of our ancestors in the primal urge to dance.

Low back pain is routinely treated by physical therapists. It is a common health problem and a major cause of disability. Low back pain can be acute, sub-acute, or chronic. In many cases there is not a significant traumatic event to identify, and therefore, the distinct cause of lower back pain is often unclear. Several risk factors such as occupational posture, depressive moods, obesity, body height and age can significantly contribute to its cause. According to the World Health Organization, lower back pain is “not a disease but a constellation of symptoms”.

You may be thinking that this will be another pretentious establishment that is trying too hard to be the next showpiece in the downtown DC restaurant scene. But you would be wrong. Ali Mesghali, 54, owner of Rumi’s Kitchen and several other restaurants nationwide, is working toward one goal: customer experience.

How can one relate to Esther today? In the powerful information age in which we live we acknowledge there are many choices. Esther’s decision process translated in her pinpointing problems and solutions. She was obedient to participating in politics a very specific moment, during a time of wars, and in a diverse society. The empire included 127 states that covered the landmass to India. Persevering in her historical knowledge, she advised the king differently from his chief administrator. Esther developed her ability to build communities. She faced evidence that would clarify law. While Xerxes pondered her hopes, he admired her analysis.

In the midst of the panic and chaos of a pandemic, when we were all trying to maintain sanity, the idea of a print publication was bold, daring and against all odds. But on the other side of the coin, we saw an opportunity to do something of value, a way to connect with our isolated community members, with a purpose to serve and to support by sharing a quality product. The more we focused through the lens of giving rather than gaining, the more our passion translated to a meaningful purpose and we became more resolute to turn our idea into action, in spite of all the uncertainties.

This summer, The United States began its tumultuous withdraw of troops from Afghanistan. There is plenty of uncertainty with respect to what we accomplished in Afghanistan, particularly against the backdrop of so many lives lost. However, there is little question that we gained many heroes. Included among those heroes is NFL veteran, Pat Tillman.

Most of us wouldn’t dream of going to the Olympics and racing on behalf of our native country. Virginia native Claire Collin’s weathered far more than that high feat; she endured training under the cloud of COVID, an injury in 2020 to her ribs and finally having to wait for her name to show up on the United States Rowing team roster, to represent the American Rowing team in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Beloved Annapolis, the City Dock, is an experience for travelers that is both visually beautiful and historically conducive to a “walking dream” over the long life on the banks of the Severn River. At the dock, one sees the mouth of the Severn River pour into Spa Creek where the sailing capital is home to sailboats, powerboats and the Annapolis Yacht Club that overlooks the entrance to the city. Named the jewel of Maryland, the river is capped with sparkling waves on the brightest of days. The Chesapeake Bay is visible; it is the largest estuary bay in the United States.
