Good morning, Marion! We have an important weather update for our community today. As I’m sure you all are aware, the National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center has placed our area under a special alert within their latest Tornado Outlook.

Marion falls within the "hatched" zone on the map, indicating not just a chance of tornadoes but an enhanced risk for more severe tornadoes today.

If you're within the red shaded area, there's a 15-29% chance of a tornado occurring within 25 miles of any point. And that hatching? It means there's extra potential for significant tornadoes, with strength ranging from EF2-EF5.

It's a good time to review your safety plan and ensure your weather alerts are activated on your phone. Stay safe, Marion—keep one eye on the sky and on your trusted weather sources. We'll keep you updated with any changes throughout the day. Stay tuned and take care!
