This is my house usage for all 120v loads including 4 space heaters to help out the central heat pump in Texas freeze last week. I had my batteries turned off just to save for power outages if needed and also need to put more insulation around them because they need to stay above freezing when charging.

Over time batteries would cost less than a generator,fuel and maintenance.
-Is it the up front cost of getting batteries holding you back from quiet maintenance free? Batteries get 6000+ cycles so avg size battery at 9.6 kwh charged from grid at 15 cent per kwh is $1.44 per day (6000 days $8640.00) plus system around $5100 and you have power for 6000 days for around $13740.
-For generator you would probably need 2 over 6000 days around $3000 for 2 generator and fuel $9 per day for 6000 days would cost around $54000 for total cost around $57000 without maintenance cost.

If you want to just run your refrigerator during your off time on battery 1000 watt inverter with 1.2 KWH of battery starting around 700$ installed.
If you want avg size 120/240V 6000 watt inverter with 9.6 KWH of batteries it would start around 5100$ installed.
If you want a big 12000 watt inverter with 14.4 KWH of batteries it would start around 8900$ installed.
