The Walker’s Point Youth and Family Shelter helps runaway and homeless children and also provides emergency shelter for pregnant youth and teens with children.

The executive director of the shelter said the organization learned in October it did not receive an annual $200,000 grant from the federal government.

Walker's Point Youth and Family Shelter is an emergency shelter for youth ages 11 to 17. It's also the only shelter in southeast Wisconsin that serves pregnant youth and youth that have a child.

But research has found the number of bowling alleys in the United States has decreased 32 percent since 2005.

The bowling industry is seeing consolidation and shrinking nationwide. Wisconsin alleys are trying to offer more to survive.
