In Central Georgia, for Central Georgia
The idea was born near the end of the 2016 high school football season, amid decreasing high school coverage. And then came the founder’s job elimination after 19 years of covering everything from Little League to Super Bowls and Mercer beating Duke, and everything in between.
The business plan began and grew and grew and grew. This is the 1.0 version of the big plan - based on the national website builder, only a fraction of potential - which is to provide local, regional, and state sports coverage to Central Georgians and of relevance to Central Georgians. Coverage many grew up with in The Paper, coverage that in general ceased to exist a few years ago and was 95 percent eliminated in early 2018.
Our physical coverage area is nearly 22 counties encompassing about 50 high schools, seven colleges, and two “minor league” teams. Coverage is provided in aggregate form for state college and pro teams. But it’s here, when it’s nowhere else in the neighborhood.
