"Jun, how do you prepare for your interviews?"
I don't follow a specific routine or method before any interview, mainly because I've given so many interviews that they’ve become a normal part of life. However, I did document what I did for my last interview 30 minutes before it started. Here's what I did:
1. I dressed up in business casual attire. Yes, I even put on cologne, even if it's a virtual interview. You have to make yourself get into the zone. For me, treating a virtual interview as if it were in-person works best.
2. I reviewed the details of the company and the position I applied for. This way, I’m prepared for any questions related to those topics.
3. I drank coffee. I'm sure I don't need to explain this one.
4. I listened to upbeat music or watched my saved "motivational" videos to get the adrenaline flowing.
There you go—that's exactly what I did 25 minutes before my interview. Oh, and make sure to join your interview 3-4 minutes early; it shows punctuality and makes a good first impression.
