My phone decided to take a little swim this weekend while I was out with Kat and her son Charles for his first official swim day! 💦😂

Even though I’m now waiting on a new phone, I wouldn’t trade those memories for anything. Watching Charles enjoy the water for the first time and sharing those laughs with Kat was totally worth it. 💛✨

Stay tuned into The Local Woman as I keep sharing real-life moments, learning on this , and celebrating all the beautiful, unexpected parts along the way.

From building new partnerships and hosting youth workshops to volunteering, swimming, and more, last week has been incredible!

Lately, I’ve been loving black-and-white and negative effects. That old movie scroll vibe has completely stolen my heart! But I don’t want to get stuck in one style, so this week I’ll be challenging myself to try new effects and keep growing.

What about you? What are your favorite effects to use when creating content? Or do you skip effects and make your videos dynamic in other ways?

Either way, I’ll keep exploring, and you’ll be right here with me on The Local Woman.

As I continue learning about content creation, I’ve also been looking back, through old photos, missed moments, and memories I never fully shared.Tonight, I finally sat down and edited a video from my 2021 trip to Europe.I visited a friend stationed overseas, and we flew to Paris to see another friend in film school. We explored local spots, shared wine, ate good food, and made memories I still carry with me.Even in Europe, we kept it local.I wasn’t in my picture-taking era just yet, but I’m so glad I captured enough to tell this story.Check out this throwback and take a little trip with me.And fair warning, tonight I played with effects… so it comes at you fast. Here at The Local Woman, we value community and the unique voices that make it vibrant. My mission as host is to highlight these voices, connect listeners to local resources, and celebrate the businesses that create memorable moments.

As I look back on the month of May, I am grateful for the peaceful mornings at Oh Honey Baking Co. While their delicious breakfast biscuits, donuts, and coffee initially drew me in, it’s the warm sense of community that makes this place special. I get there early, around 7am, before the morning rush, when the day still feels fresh and full of promise. It’s like the song says: “Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name.” This feeling of belonging makes my morning visits so meaningful.

Adding to the magic is listening to Johnny Davis, the talented guitarist and vocalist of CHOIR OF BABBLE, who recorded The Local Woman theme song, sing and hum along to some of my favorite songs by Band of Horses and The Postal Service. These comforting moments bring back fond memories of my college days working at Starbucks, where I learned valuable skills that helped me create community and connection.
