The Olympic opening ceremonies begin at 12:30pm CST! For the first time in Olympic history, the ceremonies and introduction of athletes will not take place in a stadium. Paris is going all out and hosting the festivities right on the beautiful River Seine, 100 years after hosting in 1924.

Its an honor to have been chosen and recognized for destinction by this 80 year old organization which has, and has had members such as Fred Bear, Mort Neff and Tom Huggler.

Calling all Youth Writers and Photographers...check out the post below. MidwayUSA Foundation

Calling all Youth Writers and Photographers: Wing & Clay Life and LadyShooter Lifestyles is launching a youth writing and photography contest with its partner publications. Accepted submittals will be published in the MidwayUSA Foundation section contained within our magazines. Submissions must be made in the proper format with a completed submission form. One photo and one article will be printed in each MidwayUSA Foundation section beginning with the May/June 2024 edition of and the Summer Edition of LadyShooter Lifestyles. Artists and writers who have their submissions selected for publishing will receive an excellent prize.

The contest will conclude with submissions to the Nov/Dec 2024 Wing & Clay Life edition and the Winter Edition of LadyShooter Lifestyles. Of all submissions selected for publication, an independent panel of judges will select a winning written piece and the winning photo. The winner of each will receive a phenomenal prize.

Formal rules, specifics on prizes, and submission forms will be made available 3/15/2024.

It is the most important month of the year for the industry!

August is National Shooting Sports Month. I know every month is National Shooting Sports Month for our ClayShooting enthusiast but August is especially important to share our passion with everyone.

How are you spreading the word about this awesome sport this month?

I am fortunate to be the head shooting sports coach for NubAbility Outdoors. I spent the last week In DuQuoin, Illinois at the NubAbility Athletics All-Sports camp. On Thursday we had NubAbility Outdoors Day where we introduced over 50 campers to shotgun and air rifle. Due to our location and timing constraints, we could not do live shotgun. Thankfully, with the help of GAIM Immersive Technology Group, the campers could experience shotguns through VR.

We also let the campers wear our Team USA vest, glasses and hold up our shotguns so they could feel the weight of a competition shotgun. You can read all about the first NubAbility Outdoors shooting sports camp in January in Texas in the upcoming summer issue of Lady.

NubAbility Outdoors is a small non-profit for children with limb differences and/or missing limbs that take the children on hunting, fishing, and shooting sports adventures. The coaches are also limb different (like myself) so the campers can learn from someone just like them. We will be hosting another camp in Texas in the Spring of 2024. If you would like to sponsor a camper or some gear please reach out to me and I can give you more info.

The GAIM system will be showing up on our Christmas gift guide in the 2023 Winter issue and you can read a review in the current issue of ClayShootingUSA. It is definitely a great training tool for the serious shooting enthusiast. I am not going to lie...watching the kids with the VR and listening to their commentary while using the GAIM was definitely comedic relief.
