Tonight we are expecting some thunderstorms and showers across the region. Although storms are not expected to become severe, the main threat will be high wind gusts up to 60 MPH and some localized flooding. The threat remains marginal (1/5) for Lubbock.

There is another line of thunderstorms that has developed west of the TX/NM state. It is moving eastward and these storms are expected to slowly move into the South Plains region through the rest of this evening and overnight. The severe weather threat is low overall, but we can't rule out a strong to marginally severe storm or two.

Main threats: 60 MPH wind gusts and nickel sized hail

At 5:11 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 8 miles north of Broadview to 14 miles north of
Elida, moving northeast at 15 mph.

The Found Mission connects the generosity of our community to the needs of South Plains kids; if that’s a snack bag to hold them over between school meals, shoes for basketball practice or even a ride to a doctor’s appointment.
You can drop off snack items, toiletries or a cash donation and meet some of our on-air personalities while you do. We’ll have a truck parked in front of our station and we want to fill it for the good people at Found Mission so they can get it to the kids who need it!
