Just got ANOTHER massive interview with Brooks Harlan of War On Women, and Jawbox. Brooks originally lived in El Paso, TX, has been lifelong best friends with Jim Ward of At The Drive In, and used to be in a Lubbock punk band called Crushstory with Lubbock Artist, Jme Brock. The next issue (after the one I'm currently finishing up) is gonna be STACKED. It'll take at least a few months before it's seen by the public though. Stay tuned.

I just got another special interview with Nicholas of Slit Wrists Distro out of Abilene. Slit Wrists Distro is a d.i.y. merch distro that specializes primarily in punk, metal, and hardcore patches, shirts, etc. Especially, pertaining to crust punk, grindcore, and powerviolence bands. I've bought from them several times in the past. I didn't realize how close to Lubbock they actually are, so I thought it'd be fun to message them for an interview in my zine.

He likely won't be in the current issue I'm working on but will likely be in the next one. This is another dream come true!

Currently at Alamo waiting for the show to start.

Tonight is the night! 7 pm at the Alamo Draft House in theater 8! No need for tickets, there are 5 rows of open seating! But remember that does mean first come first serve due to capacity!

I've been reflecting on the fact that it's been over 1 year since I started 'In Tongues We Speak'. I've met a lot of cool people and experienced a lot of cool things thanks to this zine. I remember around the summer of 2023 thinking to myself whether or not this would amount to anything or whether this would just wind up being a disappointment. That's when I got a reply back from Austin and Jake of Judiciary and Chris Wrenn Bridge Nine Records and I was like "okay, I HAVE to do this now. And it's gonna be something special." I truly feel like this will be a major part of my life's legacy. Thanks to everyone who agreed to partake in an interview with me and thanks to everyone out there who supported me.

The fifth issue of In Tongues We Speak is now available at Ralph's Records. Although it's hard to beat the first issue with how special that one was to me, I feel like this is none the less a very special issue. Featuring interviews with members of Tiger Splitter, Casual Dreamer, Aneurysm, Jeune, Samadhi, Rewound, and Bees at Breakfast. Also includes a tribute to the late legendary indie horror film director, Roger Corman, and the equally legendary musician and music producer, Steve Albini. The cover is inspired by Italian giallo films with images from Death Walks on High Heels, Blood and Black Lace, The Bird with the Crystal Plumage, and The Fifth Cord among other films. The back is a parody of Converge's album 'Jane Doe'. It's about time I paid tribute to my favorite band of all time.
