Belated congratulations to the Gidels on 30 years in Forest Glen! Margaritas were raised over Labor Day weekend. Jimmy Buffett was prominent in the playlist, too.

To celebrate 30 years in their Forest Glen neighborhood, Susan and Jerry threw a Margarita Party that also toasted the memory of the late, great, Jimmy Buffett. There was a blue moon earlier that week, too!

On this date last year our travels took us from Stirling Castle across the Firth of Forth to Edinburgh.

Stirling Castle has recreated unicorn tapestries, along with carved heads on the ceilings. It is more interesting than it sounds! We saw a Scottish freedom march assemble, the Wallace Monument, the Forth Bridge and headed into Edinburgh.

The Isles of Mull and Iona, and some hairy coos! Our boat trip to Staffa to visit puffin nests was canceled due to a bad fuel pump; glad we weren't aboard when it failed.

The Kentucky Derby winner will wear the 40-pound Garland of Roses created Friday, of over 450 Freedom roses. Visiting Kroger to see its creation is a tradition for many in Louisville.

"Not all those who wander are lost." We had time for a fine breakfast in Glasgow before making our way through three airports--Glasgow, Reykjavik and O'Hare. Glimpses of Greenland's glaciers were icy blue and white.

So long, Scotland! A brief stop at Reykjavik's airport, then over Greenland on the way to Chicago.

Glasgow kept revelealing more interesting sights on our last full day in Scotland.

Glasgow showed hidden treasures around every turn. ( John Lewis is a classic find-anything-you-may-need department store.)

We hopped off the bus at the University of Glasgow, for the Hunterian Museum and the fabulous Mackintosh House. Then it was off to the Riverside Museum, which was an eclectic mix of most anything that moved.

The University of Glasgow has both the Hunterian Museum and the Mackintosh House on campus. Riverside Musuem boasts all modes of transportation--and so much more, including the Glenlee, a locally built tall ship moored in the River Clyde.

The Kelvingrove Musuem, the Glasgow Necroplis and the Catherdral were the top hop-off destinations today. We found a few of the murals that brighten Glasgow, too.

Hopping on and off the tour bus in Glasgow! Caught an organ recital at Kelvingrove Museum, walked the Necropolis, visited the Cathedral with its Shrine of St. Mungo and found some of the murals around town, too.

With the rail strike over, we head from Edinburgh to Glasgow as planned. A lovely afternoon tea at MacIntosh at the Willow fortified us to continue our exploration of Scotland's biggest city.

Trains are running again! We journey from Edinburgh to Glasgow, and visit Mackintosh at the Willow for afternoon tea.
