I set this red lunchbox on the counter this morning and M said, “is it summer?!”
This dirty old lunchbox has become a symbol of outside summer fun. It just goes to show it doesn’t take much to create memories and build traditions. That something as simple as a red lunch box will trigger happy memories for my girls for the rest of their lives ❤️

I took A to play today and there was a woman there whom I’ve seen before in other kid play places around town.
She walked up to me to say hello and have a chat. This woman is Russian and it’s important for you to know that bit about her.
We got to talking about schooling, church, life, etc. all things moms usually talk about in casual conversation.
Then, something happened. I asked her about her family and if she had anyone close by to help or spend time with. What she said next was so astounding.
This woman, in her beautiful Russian accent says to me, “I do not have many people here. I do not understand it, these American women - they say, yes let’s get together..let’s spend time together but no one does that. No one actually gets together. We are all so lonely and in need of a friend yet no one wants to fellowship.”
Y’all. This is her interpretation of American women. How incredibly sad to know that this woman has tried and failed so many times to build a community and make connections with other women.
Why? Why does this happen? Why do we say one thing yet do another? Why do we let time, busyness, kids, work, etc get in the way of true relationships?
This has to change. It was so evident to me that this woman needs someone. Don’t we all? I implore you today to reach out and connect. Thank God with woman was brave enough to be vulnerable with me, and I am so excited to accept her invitation for her true community!

Wildsisterhood family, we’ve been pretty quiet here lately for some personal reasons but today I ask that you stand with us in prayer as and her husband Jonathan begin their walk through a very difficult journey.
Over the last week, the Holt family received life changing news. But we know who is the ultimate messenger. We know who has gone ahead of this news and already knows the outcome. We know that when He is for us, no one can stand against us.
Wildsisterhood family, when you lay your head down tonight could you whisper Jonathan’s name to the Father? We ask that you petition to the Lord on his behalf.
Thank you for your kindness, patience, and privacy during the time.

and I attended church together today. This is nothing new really- over the years we’ve attended together then bounced around other places separately but today, we were together ✨
We raised our hands and worshiped God for all he has done, has not done, and will continue to go to battle for, together.
We cried, praised, pleaded with the Lord, and listened to the sermon, together.
I had no idea what she was praying for specifically yet I somehow knew exactly what she was praying for. I prayed beside her. I interceded for her. And I know she did for me.
This is friendship. This is fellowship. This is the wildsisterhood. Sometimes it’s dinner and drinks. Sometimes its movie night, or a ball game with friends. Sometimes it’s falling apart on the front row of a church pew next to your person.
I’ve seen a popular post going around saying something like, “Even if you haven’t heard from me, I still love you.” And listen gals, I get it. I have two young girls whom I’m raising fiercely right now. Life is busy. BUT, you cannot let that stop you or get in the way of true community. Take the call. Accept the invite. Show up. Make a concerted, intentional effort to LOVE on your people.
If you don’t have people - find them. There is a girl out there begging God for you. Be brave! Step in and intercede. Trust me, she needs you.

When you are young you think that birthdays are just a day where everyone celebrates you. As you get older, you realize it’s really a day that you celebrate because you realize the impact that someone has on your life. You reflect on how far you have come and dream great things for the future. You celebrate finishing one chapter and the beginning of another. This girl is who we are celebrating today. She makes me better…. Honestly. She shows me what it’s really like to mother well, friend well, and wife well She is stronger than you can imagine. Happy 37 Meg. I love you and I am thankful for you and this life we are doing together.

One of our core values as the wildsisterhood is to gather around each other in the good times, and in the bad. It’s with a very heavy heart that we share that Megan’s brother unexpectedly passed away yesterday.
Life is often full of the highest of highs and devastating lows. It’s our job to love one another, support one another and just be present. Today, let’s rally around Megan and her family.
How to support someone in need?
1. Prayer (above all things prayer changes things)
2. Privacy (respect the wishes of the family)
3. Don’t take offense if you don’t hear back for days. (It’s not personal)
4. Send a door dash or send food. There are increased costs during difficult times like this. Love your people by filling in the gaps.
5. Be present (never underestimate the power of showing up.)
6. Prayer yes, it’s number 1 and 6. It’s most important.

In episode 17 we discussed the differences between being purposeful vs. destructive with your busyness.
It’s easy to fall into a constant state of going. Work, kids, school, family, chores, the list is never ending.
When this happens, it’s important to take a step back and reevaluate your priorities. What can you take away? What can you say no to? What needs revising?

It can be difficult to keep our peace during the busyness that is the holiday season! ✨
We are generally pulled in several different directions. If you have kids, you know there’s school activities, Christmas parties, etc.
All in addition to family events, Christmas shopping, decorating, work load, duties at home, the list goes on!
Finding ways to settle your heart and return to a peaceful mindset is so important!
