FOUND MY WIFE'S JEWELRY AT MY BEST FRIEND'S HOUSE — I WAS SHOCKED WHEN I LEARNED HOW IT GOT THERE.
My best friend Alan is a bachelor and usually spends his evenings alone, so I like to drop in sometimes to keep him company.
But this time it took him forever to answer, even though his car was in the driveway, so I knew he was home. Finally, after like five minutes, he opened the door, and he looked super nervous, like he was hiding something.
"Everything okay, man?" I asked.

I inherited a house from my grandparents and moved in. It’s always been a place of comfort and nostalgia. But lately, it had become a source of unease. For the past few weeks, I’d find the attic door slightly ajar every morning. I live alone, and it unsettled me to think someone might be coming into my house.
