This afternoon in South Los Angeles, I had the privilege of celebrating U.S. Senator Laphonza Butler as she concludes her term.

Having worked alongside Laphonza for well over a decade, I’ve had the honor of witnessing not just her incredible leadership, but the kindness, wisdom, and authenticity she brings to every space she enters. She’s been a steadfast partner in the work, a source of inspiration, and a friend I deeply respect.

Today was a heartfelt celebration of everything Laphonza has given to our communities and the many lives she’s touched along the way. I’m proud to call her a colleague and friend, and I look forward to seeing where her journey takes her next.
