What do you think of the new courthouse's design? Will a giant cube fit with the rest of the area's architecture or be a stark contrast?

Crews broke ground last week on the new Downtown courthouse, but there are no definite plans for the old location on Spring Street. The U.S. General Services Authority (GSA), said they haven\'t decided if they\'ll be razing the structure.

A large lot that has been empty for years on 1st Street and Broadway will soon be transformed into a federal courthouse. The new building will look a lot like a large, glass cube and include 24 courtrooms and 32 judicial chambers.

Metro says Angelenos are most concerned with how the new Union Station will connect to the L.A. River, how it will facilitate travel and what type of new development it will bring to the area.

Plans for the historic station\'s overhaul will be presented tonight at 5:30 p.m. in DTLA. The refined designs are expected to include a closer look at the main concourse, as well as a look at possible developments.

Most of the feral cats -- who made a home on the empty plot -- have been removed and placed in shelters. The next step will be demolishing a two-story, underground parking garage.

Workers have begun the process of turning a nearly two-acre lot at 1st and Broadway into a new public park. The space has stood empty since 1976 when the building there was damaged in an earthquake, and then torn down.

Everything from a BBQ restaurant to a gelato shop are opening at the Downtown staple, Grand Central Market. The 27,000-square-foot space is undergoing renovations, as developers slowly change and add new vendors to the historic market.

The Downtown Film Festival Los Angeles kicks off on Wednesday and will continue through July 20. The festival\'s panels, parties and screenings take place at locations throughout DTLA.

DTLA\'s population has exploded by about 40 percent over the last ten years, as residents have filled lofts in the Arts District and the Historic Core. But amid all this growth, one neighborhood has remained largely the same: Chinatown.

Broadway will soon have only three lanes for traffic but additional pedestrian space. Will you miss the cars?

The L.A. City Council has voted to fund Phase I of a project that will transform Broadway into a more pedestrian friendly space. This means reducing lanes of traffic to three and adding more 24-hour curbside parking.

Carol Sobel, attorney for the homeless, said she was pleased with the Supreme Court's decision not to review the case.

“You can’t take people’s property and destroy it. Our evidence in support of this injunction was overwhelming," she said.

The U.S. Supreme Court will not review a controversial case that puts restrictions on how the city of Los Angeles can remove and destroy the possessions of the homeless living on Skid Row.
