I’m honored to be back with for the 31st annual anniversary of - It is an evening of reflection that is filled with music, inspirational speakers, remembrance, and prayer. At this empowering community event, new names are unveiled at The AIDS Monument in a special candle-lighting ceremony—the ceremony also coincides with the anniversary of the founding of The Wall Las Memorias Project.

Aztec Musicians Grupo de Danza Azteca Chichimeca Ome Acati honored the land to open the ceremony and brought the voice of an angel as the sun went down. Hearts were touched and tears were shed, but sung us into the closing fireworks.

Over 500 members from the community attend the annual event. Guests include members of the entertainment industry, local and state elected officials, leaders of faith-based organizations, labor members, LGBT activists as well as community leaders from across Los Angeles. The AIDS Monument is located at 3600 Mission Road, Los Angeles, CA 90031.

Q: Can you tell us a bit about your background and how it
shaped who you are today?
A: I started my career in hospitality and events management, first as
a chef and then managing some of the largest venues and music
events in Canada. After a few years, I became an executive at several
award-winning digital and advertising agencies. Thirteen years
ago, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my goals in production and
technology, and now all of these experiences work in harmony at
KNEKT TV. These seemingly unrelated experiences have given me a
well-rounded understanding of the elements needed to succeed in
my current fields.
Q: What advice would you give to younger generations who
look up to you as a role model?
A: My advice for the younger generation is to go above and beyond
expectations in all aspects of life. Many people settle for doing the
bare minimum in their careers and in how they show up for friends
and family, which holds them back from getting ahead. Focus on how
to improve, give back more, and build strong relationships—this will
be the key factor that sets you apart from the pack.
Q: What core values guide your decisions and actions in both
your professional and personal life?
A: Core Values:
