Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center has appointed Dr. Joe Kim, MD, MPH as its new Chief Medical Officer, effective January 5, 2026.

Dr. Kim is a nationally recognized physician leader with more than 15 years of experience, known for advancing clinical excellence, patient safety, innovation, and health equity. He previously served as Chief Medical Officer at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center and held leadership roles at Cedars-Sinai Health System and Dignity Health – California Hospital Medical Center.

🚨 BREAKING NEWS: Mayor Karen Bass Announces New Executive Leadership Staff 🚨

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has appointed three new leaders to her executive team:
• Rachel Brashier – Deputy Chief of Staff for City Services
• Anna Hovasapian – Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy
• Amanda Crumley – Deputy Mayor of Communications

“At City Hall, we must continue breaking away from the old failed ways of business as usual. We have made historic progress in bringing people out of tents and off the streets, driving down homicides and bringing new investments to the city,” said Mayor Bass.
“Rachel Brashier, Amanda Crumley and Anna Hovasapian will fuel this momentum to ensure we continue delivering for the people of Los Angeles with maximum urgency.”

These leaders will focus on making Los Angeles safer, cleaner, and more efficient, while addressing homelessness and improving city services for all Angelenos.
