Took some time off from Bushcraft and Camping. Or... I have been out a couple of times but without a camera during the summer. A completely different experience that reminded me of the old days. Im back now and the plan is to step things up. One new video every Saturday. Also will take the show more on the road. Let's see how it goes.
Started out with cold weather then very warm. Didn't even need my mat in the hammock. Under the stars and warm summer breeze all night. Easy living.
Trying out the packraft thing because its a fantastic option to be able to hike trails and paddle waterways with everything you need on your back. This outing the canoe would have been more practical of course, but I needed to learn how to paddle the raft and all things around it. Had a lot of leakage in the right zipper (or some seam maybe) so sat in a puddle of water after each short distance. I applied zipper wax in the zipper but no difference. Next step is I plan to tape over with gerilla tape, zipper, seams and all. Will have to seal it up before going up north in colder weather. Don't need to unzip it anyway because I find it impossible to paddle without water getting on the roof. Left hand side with the velcro was no problem.
Thanks for watching and hope you enjoy!

3 days bushwalking and hiking. The first night was too warm for the kitchen but it was a great treat on the second night when the temperature dropped and the wind blew. The first cooking method is a style of pressure cooking the meat in an upside down pot on a stick. The reason by the grass is to shock the flesh and make it sweat which starts to boil and closes the pores. If you can't find hay, it will work if there isn't one but the juice will run down the stick during the cooking process. A good place to find hay even in summer is in full bloom is along the lakeshore beneath the green grass. The recipe for making bread is water, oil, flour, baking soda, and salt. Thanks for watching.
Out for a 3 day bushcraft trip and paddling the canoe again. Nice weather and nice food. Been trying to make a willow flute several times before. The hardest part is getting the bark off without small cracks. It's a really short window when the sap rises in spring when this is possible. Got one crack but luckily I had some super glue in my medical kit.
As always material for crafting is brought to site and not harvested on location. Follow the "allemansrätt" when camping in Sweden and always leave no trace.
Thanks for watching!
5 days hiking and bushcraft. Typical April weather with sudden changes. Love it. Classic Swedwoods outing with the trusted old Lavvu poncho. Been having lots of requests to make longer videos so here you go...
As always. This is real solo camping and hiking with bushcraft activities. That is my interest. Not survival. I enjoy nature nothing else. Materials for crafting is brought to site and not harvested on location. Leave no trace and please follow the "allemansrätt" if camping in Sweden.
Thank you for watching!
Whats new here is there was no planning for this film. Just grabbed some stuff I had at home and packed a bag and decided to walk a bit further than usual. No shopping, planning food etc. So a bit different but I'm in a process right now finding my way back to what initially got me into this. Back when I just went out into the woods for the sake of being there. Some great ice sounds in this so wear headphones. Enjoy.
Thanks for watching.
Bushcraft trip and hike for 3 days. Been thinking lately. Im not sure how to move forward with this. Cant keep doing the same type of video forever. I basically never watch my own videos. Now and then I have been watching parts of them if I need to find some info to answer questions from viewers. I noticed the only thing interesting me was the views... not carving forks and slicing onions lol... I skip to the parts that depict nature and mood. The changing of light.. shots of trees... the sky, rain on a tarp etc. Of course a film need to have balance not to be boring. But maybe I must dig deeper in nature. It will not be beneficial for views but maybe it's some kind of way forward. We will see.
First campsite may seem odd at the exposed lake in the high wind. But in a storm like that, with the wind coming in it was the only place that was safe from falling trees. The sawhorse is somewhat more stable with the legs angled forward, but I usually go the other way around as long as I feel its stable sawing. Benefit is free space under the saw spot and not having the saw horse legs in the way. When the log/tree you are sawing gets smaller flip the legs forward and get the last couple of pieces off with stable sawing. Turning and dragging a fresh spruce off the road with the bows etc still attached to the trunk is very heavy. If you can, drag it from the base like I did because you have big solid branches to hold. Turning it from the top is awkward but not as heavy.. you risk getting spruce sap on you your clothes though up at the flexible top of the tree with the cones etc. A rope helps or sawing it one more time.
Thanks for Watching!

Solo Bushraft in the cold.
People may wonder why my videos often feature weather changes. Not always but.. yes, I like the change of weather and aim for it when I shoot video. It's like I check the forecast and aim for it. Gray weather for a dull week. When there is a change in the weather, everything happens in nature.. the light changes, the animals move.. the sound..it is capturing those magical moments with the camera. Love the first snow of the season on the ground. This time it happened at night but it was nice to wake up pure. Tried new setup with Polish Lavvu. Even with snow or light rain, it can be very effective. If the wind changes just change sides. And even if the fire is quite explosive in the middle of warming and drying, it's still good. If you sit/lie down halfway it feels almost like being in a heated teepee. But I guess it has its limit if the wind picks up or starts to rain more etc. but I think.. then raising the pegs by half and moving the shelter in and buttoning it together with the other. (especially if you set it up with center poles if you know bad weather is coming) Can do it in five minutes if needed. Helps a lot to have a movable flame. So a great new setup for me. As always, crafting materials are brought to the site and not harvested on site. I have favorite spots that I visit often, and I am determined to leave nature untouched and unspoiled. We invite you to follow Sweden's "Allemansrätt" while camping in Sweden.

Long time no see..
Bushcraft and hiking. Been looking for years for a second Swedish lone wolf poncho and finally found one. The fabric is not canvas but linnen. A lot lighter than the polish ones. Not much to say this time. The bushcraft world is in mourning. I never met him for real but one get so used to having his videos around. He reached out several times to meet up but I never had time with 2 jobs, small children etc as an excuse. He was a kindred spirit that is for sure. Lesson learnt. Never wait for stuff. Ive been thinking a lot lately and I think change need to come.
Thanks for watching!
