Wow the response we have gotten already is incredible🥹. I was so nervous to even propose this because I thought no one would show up or be interested 🥹😭 yall have just proved me SO wrong.

So I am still looking for a handful of vendors and/ or organizations, businesses, etc. to set up and help provide candy & games to our little trick or treaters that don’t often get to enjoy all of the candy of the season. Please reach out if this is something that you would be interested in. We can only take a few as space is limited. There will be a small fee to help cover cleaning costs, etc. please let me know asap if this is something that would interest you- it’s looking to be a great turnout! ❤️

The Smithsonian is coming to Texas!

Texans are proud of their small towns, but what does rural America look like today, and how has it changed over the last century? This is the central question posed in “Crossroads: Change in Rural America,” a Smithsonian exhibit traveling to seven small towns across the state starting this month.

The Museum on Main Street (MoMS) program is a unique initiative by the Smithsonian Institution that brings world-class exhibitions to small-town America. Since 1994, MoMS has traveled to over 1,900 communities; this year, it'll debut in Texas.

"Crossroads" aims to highlight rural America's unique culture and history while addressing the opportunities for economic revitalization in small towns. It will feature engaging displays, interactive components, and locally curated content encouraging visitors to reflect on the importance of preserving small-town heritage and the potential for future growth.

The exhibit will be on display in seven Texas towns for a six-week period. Find out when the Smithsonian is coming near you:

San Augustine: Aug 24 – Oct 6
Clifton: Oct 12 – Dec 1
Brenham: Dec 7 – Jan 19, 2025
Rockport: Jan 25 – Mar 9
Buffalo Gap: Mar 15 – April 27
San Elizario: May 3 – June 15
Bandera: June 21 – Aug 2
