FAADroneZone Definition of a Small Unmanned Aircraft System.
1)Weigh Less than 55 lbs take-off weight, including everything that is on board or attached to the aircraft
2) Operated without the possibility of direct human intervention from within or on the aircraft (No Pilot on board the aircraft)
3) Includes the aircraft itself and all its associated elements required for safe operation, (including the equipment such as the Reciever in the aircraft and the Radio that controls the aircraft)
Note: This includes any aircraft that meets the above descriptions, including fixed-wing style aircraft and Quadcopters, otherwise known as Drones.
(All Remotely Controlled or Autonomous Aircraft that can maintain controlled & sustained level flight are Drones)
