Starting Jan. 6, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will begin a $21.5 million bridge project in Livonia, replacing two bridges: Old M-14 (Ann Arbor Road) over the Middle Rouge River and Edward Hines Drive over Ann Arbor Road. This work will continue through 2025, including intersection rebuilds and updated traffic signals for smoother, safer travel.
(Jan. 6 onwards) Ann Arbor Road will close between Newburgh Road and Market Street. Detours:
- Eastbound: North on Newburgh, east on Plymouth
- Westbound: West on Plymouth, south on Newburgh
(Spring 2025) Edward Hines will close between Newburgh and Wayne Roads. Detours:
- Eastbound: North on Newburgh, east on Plymouth, south on Farmington, west on Joy
- Westbound: East on Joy, north on Farmington, west on Plymouth, south on Jughandle
Expect additional work later in 2025 to modernize signals at the Ann Arbor Road intersections with Newburgh and Plymouth.
