I've been watching the videos posted by people in the areas that were hit with the floods from the dams breaking. It is absolutely heartbreaking. I can't even begin to imagine what those poor people and animals are going thru. I myself am a North Fl native. Born and raised. We are use to hurricanes hitting us. Not as much as this season and not as strong as these storms have been recently...But Fl people are built for this kind of s**t. Those people in Nc, Tn, Va, etc. are NOT! They had no time to prepare or evacuate. The water came so quickly that entire towns are just gone.
Now listen to this. I have been seeing our own Fl people commenting on a lot of the videos and posts saying "Why didn't they prepare?" , "They knew the storm was coming. Why didn't they evacuate?" ... THEY HAD NO TIME. And for our Fl people to be saying these things with all we deal with each year from hurricanes and storms, it's just outrageous IMO. No one from the government is helping them. Private citizens trying to come in with supplies and to lend man power where needed are being told they aren't needed. Fema is confiscating supplies from trucks and then turning the drivers around. Supplies are being held in warehouses instead of going to our people that are in the worst need.
How are we suppose to come together for anything if we can't come together for our fellow Americans? If the government can't show up during a natural disaster to help then why in the hell are Americans paying taxes for these services? American citizens are finding alternate routes to the towns hit the hardest to get much needed food, water and basic supplies they need to them. People from Nc and Tn are begging Americans for help because Fema and other officials have abandoned them and are letting them die. Cut off from the world in a devastating situation. Every resource America has should be up there. Fl was hit but not like that. We have some places that need assistance, but most towns will be just fine until there is time for us. Those people need all the help they can get and the government is just no where to be found.
Just sit there and close your eyes. Now imagine the sound of rushing flood water headed right for your home with you and your family still inside because you couldn't get out in time because there was no time. Imagine watching your parents, siblings, children drown in front of you hearing their screams for help. Or if you were lucky enough to get out, watching your entire home float away and collapse into a brown colored liquid rage. That could have very easily have been us. I am not considering the geo of the lands. I am saying at any moment Fl could be flooded from a storm. Devastation from coast to coast. Would we appreciate being asked why we didn't leave? Why we didn't prepare? Al Floridians, we all know how fast these storms can intensify and change course. Even a small change can make a huge difference. Stop being so stupid because Karma will come eventually.
All Americans need to do what they can to help those hit hardest by Helene. Many states were touched and the damages, destruction and lives lost are unimaginable. Try to be a bit more understanding with your words when commenting on these videos and posts. I guarantee you all those people did whatever they could with what little time they had. They are now doing the best they can to survive. So. Instead of complaining, consider how damn lucky we all are and how much others have lost during this.
Be Americans. Show your support. Donate to the causes to private churches and citizens collecting for the areas in Fl, Ga, Nc, Va, Ky and Tn that are suffering unimaginably right now and will be for a very long time. Stand strong Americans. We all have to take care of each other because obviously our leaders and government officials don't give a s**t about the ones that are really in need.
