“I was always a prankster...And one time at WBBM, I decided I wanted to play a trick on everybody in the control room. So I caught a common house fly, went to one of the main microphones they used on the air, opened up the housing, put the fly inside, and closed it back up. Then I just sat back and watched them go crazy trying to figure out where the buzzing was coming from. The fly would buzz around inside the mic and then rest for a couple of seconds, and the engineers were going nuts trying to find the cause. Watching them trying to identify the problem just struck me as very funny, and they never did figure it out until I finally told them." -Les Paul

A New addition to the studio

It's a beautiful instrument all I had to do was pay to have it moved. It does have a couple of small issues but I can fix that in fact I still have all of my supplies when I used to have my piano shop in Seattle. And she's only about ten cents flat which is extremely good news.

Another interesting fact is is that this is a Schmoller & Mueller which was one of the very first US Manufactured Mail Order Pianos Built a little after the turn of the century.
Did you know that the United States once had over 1000 piano manufactures across the country. One of the reasons for this is because they were not easy to ship and so they were manufactured locally.

The depression killed most of the family run piano manufactures which were bought out by the larger companies like Baldwin, Aeolian,Chickening, and Wurlitzer to name a few.

A Big thanks goes to Katherine Boggs for the Piano and Donald J. Chamberlin for the great deal on the move. And David Vaughan for bringing it to my attention.
