Bleached knots are DELICATE and can over time, require some maintenance. The human hair wig in this video is over a year old and the lace where the knots were bleached underneath is starting to yellow. Rather than use a purple shampoo or conditioner to tone down the yellow on the lace and potentially risk loosening the knots, I am trying a leave-In product recommended by a local salon.

On Sundays we Brunch! 🥂 I’m trying out a new synthetic wig from @imwigs. It’s got full bangs, open Wefted cap and mermaid waves in an ombré Ash Blonde. It’s a budget-friendly wig that is long enough to put in a ponytail or braid.

BTS showing how I converted my long Hustle hat wig into a more functional & comfortable lob length.
But first, ✨DISCLAIMER: I am not a licensed professional. I purchased this myself. I am doing this at my own risk. Not advocating that you do the same. ✨
This wig was purchased resale from @silkorlace. It was in excellent condition. It is Medium Brown light wave human hair hat wig that was originally 23” long. Size Medium which is a bit big on my 21.5” head.
▫️Secure the wig to the mannequin. I used Tpins because this is a hat wig and the only thing punctured was fabric. Wouldn’t recommend using T pins on a more delicate Lacetop…ever.
▫️ Because I was removing so much hair, I used Hair Clippers because it was faster. But, it creates a very blunt cut at the ends…I’m sure a professional wouldn’t recommend this.
▫️Once I had the length I wanted, I tried it on to make sure it fit the way I wanted it to.
▫️ I sectioned the hair following the wefts, applied heat protection and used my 1” BioIonic curling iron to loosely curl .5-1” pieces. Then, took my shears and cut the ends into tapered ribbons.
▫️Once that was done and to my liking, I used a wide tooth comb and brushed the curls out.
I am much happier with the shorter length on my petite 5’ frame. Please note that on someone taller this length would rest differently, however on me it is still long enough to pull back if I wanted to.
