Bleached knots are DELICATE and can over time, require some maintenance. The human hair wig in this video is over a year old and the lace where the knots were bleached underneath is starting to yellow. Rather than use a purple shampoo or conditioner to tone down the yellow on the lace and potentially risk loosening the knots, I am trying a leave-In product recommended by a local salon.

On Sundays we Brunch! 🥂 I’m trying out a new synthetic wig from @imwigs. It’s got full bangs, open Wefted cap and mermaid waves in an ombré Ash Blonde. It’s a budget-friendly wig that is long enough to put in a ponytail or braid.

BTS showing how I converted my long Hustle hat wig into a more functional & comfortable lob length.
But first, ✨DISCLAIMER: I am not a licensed professional. I purchased this myself. I am doing this at my own risk. Not advocating that you do the same. ✨
This wig was purchased resale from @silkorlace. It was in excellent condition. It is Medium Brown light wave human hair hat wig that was originally 23” long. Size Medium which is a bit big on my 21.5” head.
▫️Secure the wig to the mannequin. I used Tpins because this is a hat wig and the only thing punctured was fabric. Wouldn’t recommend using T pins on a more delicate Lacetop…ever.
▫️ Because I was removing so much hair, I used Hair Clippers because it was faster. But, it creates a very blunt cut at the ends…I’m sure a professional wouldn’t recommend this.
▫️Once I had the length I wanted, I tried it on to make sure it fit the way I wanted it to.
▫️ I sectioned the hair following the wefts, applied heat protection and used my 1” BioIonic curling iron to loosely curl .5-1” pieces. Then, took my shears and cut the ends into tapered ribbons.
▫️Once that was done and to my liking, I used a wide tooth comb and brushed the curls out.
I am much happier with the shorter length on my petite 5’ frame. Please note that on someone taller this length would rest differently, however on me it is still long enough to pull back if I wanted to.

📣ATTN to my friends who are salon owners, wig artists or otherwise interested in buying directly from an overseas manufacturer. Today I am previewing a Human Hair wig from @newtimeshair_womenfashion. NEWTIMES hair is a wholesale wig manufacturer in China.
Here are the specs:
👉🏻 Style is HW-1 cap in color 6244T (a rooted dimensional blonde)
👉🏻 Cap fits 22” circumference. However, it feels like maybe it could be S/M because with the silicone lining it fits my 21.5” perfectly without using the adjusters.
👉🏻 Vendor says this is Remy Single Donor Chinese hair. The texture does feel very soft and silky. So, I want to see what it looks like after a wash.
👉🏻 Length is 14” per the vendor (so it must be measured from the nape). On my 5’1” frame it is more like 16-18”.
👉🏻 I do think that there are opportunities for customization along the hairline/partline and lace front as well as with styling/cutting the piece.

Wig Grips- Part 3: This week I am showing you an all Silicone headband style wig grip. This is my go-to grip for my active wigs when I am playing tennis or going to yoga, because I don’t want my wig to budge At 👏🏻 All 👏🏻.
Also, it is waterproof/sweat proof and easy to clean. Most of my active wigs don’t have lace tops so I don’t need to worry about the grip showing or blending. I don’t tend to wear it for long periods of time, mainly because the fit is very tight.
I got this grip from Amazon and have it in a Transparent color as well as a light Nude color (shown in the video).

This is my sweet Mom! ❤️ She has been steadily losing her hair for the last decade or so. It finally got so bad she could no longer cover her balding scalp, which made functioning outside of her home extremely uncomfortable. 😣

Well, HELLO there! This one is cute right out of the box!
I’m wearing Lustrous from the Statements collection at @thewigcompany in Glazed Hazelnut ((R829S)).
First impressions….its a really fun style that is reminiscent of the classic long bangs/shag layered cuts of my childhood. I think the kids today would call it a Wolf Cut?! 🐺 🤷♀️ The bangs are a bit too long for me to wear straight over my forehead, but I’m kinda digging the side sweep with rough finger styling.
This is a basic cap construction so no lace front or parting area. But, you really don’t need it with this style especially if you don’t mind messing it up a bit with some spray wax.

Over the next few weeks on Wednesday, I’ll be featuring some of my Wig Grips that I have purchased as I’ve moved through my wig wearing journey.
The one I’m wearing today is actually a Topper Grip from @milanowigs. It is my go to grip currently because it is low profile and lightweight. I like a snug fit with my Lace top wigs, and this one doesn’t create bulk underneath when the cap is tight against my head.
