☀️🌑☀️ TIMING OF TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE IN LIMA ☀️🌑☀️
Are you ready, Lima?!?!?!?!?!? By my 18038024850924375023487 exclamation points and question marks, you can tell that I AM READY for the Total Solar Eclipse on Monday!!!
To help you know the timing of the eclipse better locally in the city of Lima (know these times are different slightly with each local town and city), the partial eclipse stage begins at exactly 1:54:53 PM. At this exact time, Lima will enter the penumbra. At 3:09:49 PM, totality begins in Lima, and we enter the umbra. The maximum eclipse occurs at 3:11:45 PM. Totality ends at 3:13:41 PM. This leads to a total totality duration of 3 minutes, 52 seconds for the city of Lima! At 3:13:41 PM, we enter the penumbra again and experience a partial solar eclipse until 4:26:03 PM when the partial eclipse ends. There are some important reminders to keep in mind:
- You MUST wear specially designed solar eclipse glasses at ALL TIMES during the partial eclipse stages.
- The ONLY SAFE TIME to take off your solar eclipse glasses is during totality.
- Don't be alarmed if the temperatures start to cool off during the eclipse: that is expected as the sun's radiation decreases heading toward totality!
- Please follow ALL local and state guidelines when it comes to driving and parking.
- Allow extra time to travel over the next few days. There will be higher-than-normal traffic due to tourists visiting the region.
- Pack some supplies in your car including food, water, batteries, first-aid kit (like a normal weather emergency survival kit). First responders may take longer than normal to respond if there are high amounts of people in the area.
- Please pack some patience and remember: don't forget to be friendly!
Enjoy, Lima! This is one day to remember!
