FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Gospel Music FanFair Heads to Sweet Home Alabama

KENNEDY, AL 11/10/23 - Wilds & Associates, the promotional company that presents the annual Gospel Music FanFair and whose headquarters are in Kennedy, Alabama, has announced a location change for the 2024 event. “We’re bringing Gospel Music FanFair home to Alabama!” says Wilds & Associates CEO, Randall Wilds.

Gospel Music FanFair held its first event in Chattanooga, Tennessee in 2005. In 2009, the event was relocated to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Since 2014, Somerset, Kentucky has hosted the multi-day event. For the 20th anniversary event in 2024, Gospel Music FanFair is moving to the beautiful, historic town of Fayette, Alabama.

The Fayette Civic Center will be the site of the 20th anniversary event. Located in the downtown area with convenient on-site parking, the center features an auditorium with a spacious stage and comfortable theater-style seating. The Center is also home to the Fayette Art Museum, an established regional attraction displaying art by internationally known Fayette native Jimmy Lee Sudduth and other folk and mainstream 20th-century American artists.

Known for its neighborly, southern charm and hospitality, the town of Fayette offers a variety of shops, restaurants, recreation, and other attractions suitable for the entire family. For example, Guthrie Smith Park features seven baseball/softball fields and two batting cages, a basketball court, four tennis courts, a large playground, a fishing lake, a walking trail, and an RV park. The Fayette Aquatic Center has summer fun for everyone, boasting three giant water slides, a pool with a diving board, a kids play area, a lazy river, a splash pad and splash fountain.

While Fayette does offer some popular national chain restaurants, that “hometown” experience is found in such local favorites as Lisa’s Barbecue, Huatulco Mexican, China Dragon, Sam’s Smokehouse, Hiro Japanese Hibachi Express, Charles’ Cafeteria & Grill, and Backyard Steak & Fish, among others.

“I am so excited about bringing Gospel Music FanFair to my neighborhood! Fayette is the neighboring town just a few miles northeast of Kennedy,” Wilds mentions. “I’m a native of east Tennessee, but this area has been my home since 1989, and I’m so proud to have folks coming from all over the southeast to enjoy this event in my neck of the woods!”

He adds, “Fayette has so much to offer, and I’m grateful that the city has welcomed us with open arms. While Fayette has always welcomed Christian events and concerts, I believe Gospel Music FanFair may be the largest, multi-day event the town has ever hosted. Everyone is invited to enjoy this time of music, fun, and fellowship.”

The 20th Annual Gospel Music FanFair, held May 9-11, 2024, will hold daily worship services, showcases, afternoon matinees, evening concerts, and the 2024 Gospel Music Fan Awards. Artists already confirmed to appear include The Scotts, The Freemans, The Singing Cookes, and The Cupps. Additional artists will be announced as they are confirmed.

On behalf of the Pitts Family……..

On August 4, 2023, our hearts were shattered as we unexpectedly said goodbye to a beloved soul, Anita Ballard Pitts. She passed away peacefully in her sleep, leaving behind a void that can never be filled. Though her departure from this world was sudden, her impact on the lives she touched will forever be remembered with fondness and gratitude.

Anita was the cherished wife of Paul Pitts, and their love story was one of unwavering devotion and companionship.

As a mother, Anita poured her heart and soul into nurturing her three children: Christopher W. Pitts, Jeffrey M. Pitts, and Robyn Pitts Smith. She was a pillar of strength and a constant source of love and support as they navigated life's challenges.

Anita's love extended to her six grandchildren: David Paul Pitts, William Simmons, Elijah Smith, Selah Smith, Grace Lee, and Theodore Pitts. Her pride in their accomplishments knew no bounds, and she relished every moment spent with them, creating treasured memories that will forever be held close.

In the presence of her two great-grandchildren, Willow Pitts and Eve Lee, Anita found joy in the innocence and wonder of youth. She delighted in their laughter and playful spirits, finding happiness in their every embrace.

Born in Clanton, Alabama, Anita's journey led her to make her home in Duncan, South Carolina. She lived a life dedicated to the Lord and her family. As a compassionate Registered Nurse, she cared for others with a selflessness that left a lasting impact on those she tended to. Her nurturing spirit also found expression as a Minister of Music, using her melodious voice and musical talents to lead others in worship and praise. Her gift for songwriting and musicianship spread the joy of gospel music far and wide, touching the hearts of countless individuals across the globe.

Anita's involvement in the Global Promotions of gospel music allowed her to touch the lives of people from around the world.

A devoted member of Praise Cathedral Church in Greer, South Carolina, Anita's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She found solace and strength in her relationship with God, and her commitment to her faith was evident in all aspects of her life.

Anita was blessed with a loving family that provided her with unwavering support and guidance. Her parents, Rev. David A. Ballard and Ida Ballard Burnette along with her parents in love Rev. Buell A. Pitts and Paula W. Pitts and her siblings Sheila Diane Ballard and Joseph Duane Ballard, shared a bond that transcended time and distance.

In this time of grief and loss, let us find comfort in the beautiful memories we hold dear and the knowledge that Anita's spirit lives on in the hearts of all those she loved. A memorial service to celebrate her life and honor her memory will be held at Praise Cathedral Church of God on August 15, 2023. A receiving of friends and family will begin at 5:00pm and a Celebration of Life will be at 6:00pm. Everyone is welcome to come celebrate Anita’s life with our family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Selah Grey Foundation (www.SelahGrey.com) in Anita's memory. This foundation is founded on her granddaughter, Selah Smith, and continues Anita’s legacy of compassion and service to others.

As we grieve together, let us remember the words: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). May we find strength and solace in knowing that Anita now rests in eternal peace, forever embraced in the loving arms of her heavenly Father.

With love and remembrance,

The Pitts Family

𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞:

The Kingdom Heirs are honored and excited to officially introduce you to a new face at the tenor position in our award winning quartet. As we move forward with our ministry and tenure at Dollywood, it's a priority to place the finest people on stage, not only from a talent perspective but also someone who has the necessary qualities off stage to build relationships and show Christian love to all who come to a Kingdom Heir show at Dollywood as well as our appearances outside the park.

We've had an overwhelming response from so many talented individuals and we appreciate each and everyone. We certainly encourage you all to pray about your journey and the opportunities God has in your future.

As for us, after continuous prayer and effective immediately, Joshua Horrell will join The Kingdom Heir family and step into the position as our new and exciting tenor.

Josh, a native of Wallace NC, is no stranger to gospel music and has had tenures with well known and established groups in the Southern Gospel Music industry.

We are excited to move forward as we begin another chapter in our ministry. We ask you join us in welcoming Josh to The Kingdom Heir family. Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we will be releasing more exciting news in the upcoming weeks.

God Bless and we love you all.

The Kingdom Heirs,

𝙊𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙈𝙧 𝙅𝙤𝙨𝙝𝙪𝙖 𝙃𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙡:

"A huge thank you goes out to the Kingdom Heirs, but more importantly, to my heavenly father for allowing me this opportunity! When the guys reached out to me about auditioning for the tenor position and filling in, I immediately began to pray and ask God for direction. As I was traveling for work near home, I saw a Dollywood billboard that said “The Great Smokies Are Calling” and I instantly felt peace and knew this is where I needed to be and that this was my sign from God. As excited as I am to be a part of the Kingdom Heirs, I will greatly miss The Griffins. They have become like family and I know God has great things in store for them. I’ve been able to get to know these guys from filling in during this transition time and they are great guys and already great friends. I look forward to meeting so many wonderful people at Dollywood and on the road. If you’ve never been to Dollywood, now is the perfect time to come visit and be sure to stop in and see us! I look forward to a great future with the Kingdom Heirs!"

It is with a heavy heart that we share about the passing of Mike Fleming. Mike has been filling in with us on bass recently as seen in the photo here last month. Our loss is heaven’s gain. Rest easy Mike!

VETERAN BASS VOCALIST JOINS GOLD CITY

—Gadsden, AL

Gold City is pleased to announce Jeff Chapman will be their new bass vocalist. Jeff comes to the group after having served as bass for the Kingdom Heirs since 2002. He joins baritone Danny Riley, lead Bruce Taliaferro and tenor Chris Jenkins to make up the current line-up of this award-winning quartet. With pianist Terry Wooten, sound and road manager Dillan West, and driver Russell Wise rounding out the team, this quartet’s mission to encourage the saved and reveal Jesus to the lost continues into it’s 43rd year.

Danny Riley says, “I couldn’t in my wildest dreams have imagined that we’d be welcoming Jeff to our group, but we are—and we are beyond excited! Jeff is one of the greatest bass voices of the current musical generation. Even more importantly, he is a man of God who has prayed over this decision for weeks. We appreciate that about him. I want you to know we are planning to have a great time on stage singing and working for the Lord with this man who can forevermore sing bass. I look at the men on the Gold City bus and just have to thank God for how he’s always been so faithful to this group. I’m a blessed man.”

Jeff has long been both a fan and student of Gold City’s legendary Hall of Fame bass vocalist Tim Riley. Prior to his tenure with the Kingdom Heirs at Dollywood Theme Park, Jeff spent time with both the Blackwoods and the Anchormen. He is greatly respected by fans and industry peers alike, and comes to Gold City much to the delight of so many who have liked what they heard when Jeff filled in for the group on a few prior occasions. Danny says, “The times we’ve sang with Jeff, it’s almost scary how much he sounds like my dad. It’s been just an incredible experience already and he’s just starting. We have much to thank God for and for which to be excited.”

“Shortly after I found out there was a opening with Gold City, I began praying about a bass singer for them. Then I realized that this is where God was leading me,” Jeff says. “Gold City is my all-time favorite group and Tim Riley is an earthly hero of mine. I have always wanted to sing with this group, and I’m grateful and excited about the opportunity. I know that God has worked out all of the details for me to be here at this moment in time. Those who have read my bio when I was with Kingdom Heirs know that my favorite group, singer, album and song all come from Gold City. So needless to say, this is truly a great moment for me, one I don’t take lightly. I’m looking forward to getting out to all the places Gold City is loved and meeting their fans. As happy as I am to be coming to Gold City, I will greatly miss my Kingdom Heirs brothers. And when I say “brothers,” I mean it. We’re a family there, so this has been a hard decision to make because of them. But I will always be their biggest supporter, and I hope they have many more years of making great music at Dollywood.”

Jeff’s first official concert with Gold City will be April 20, 2023.

Gold City is booked exclusively by the Dominion Agency. For more information, visit www.dominionagency.com.
