True Reflections

True Reflections Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
2 Corinthians 5:20 KJV

Hello 2025! God has allowed us to see another year begin.
Many years ago my Pastor preached about not turning over a new leaf but having a true change of heart.
The difference is the dedication, the loyalty, the desire in that change and that can only come from God. My mind may tell me to do better, take better care of myself, show more love to others, stop this thing or another, to be better BUT my mind won’t drive me to continue in it. I’ll get slack and eventually fall back into my old ways. When God, draws me to change, when He touches my heart, He makes a change in me that surpasses anything my mind may think. His change in me is real, it’s life altering, it’s an about face. He sustains that change and gives the desire to grow in it, in Him. I pray that each one will feel His draw and accept His change in your hearts and souls this year, this month, this day, this hour. He will sustain you. He will change you. He will keep you. And you’ll look back and wonder why you waited so long. God is Good and I want more of Him this coming year.
Happy New Year!!

Many years ago, before sanctification, I watched a movie called Where the Heart Is. This teenage girl was pregnant and abandoned by her boyfriend at a Walmart. Young, scared in an unknown, small country town, not confident, no skills seemingly, she hid ou

God is our Refuge!

In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge. Proverbs 14:26 KJV   Fear and Safety are usually on opposite sides. In our everyday use of the term fear, it usually does not coincide with confidence or refuge. However, God’s w

What is your purpose today?

What is your goal in life? Is it to build a loving family and grow old together with your spouse, to live comfortably and leave your children financially stable? Maybe, it is to build a multi-million-dollar company and make all you can make while living a life of luxury? Maybe, it is prestige in thi

Sometimes we need a little perspective! Do you know the best place to get it? God's word! If you haven't opened your Bible today I encourage you to take a few minutes right now and let God speak to you through His word to gain a little perspective!

Jeremiah 24:5 “Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for their good.” As I was reading this morning this verse stuck out to me! The people ...

Where To Go?
Mark Chapter 6 talks about Jesus feeding the 5000 with only 5 loaves and 2 fish however after this amazing miracle occurs the Bible goes on to describe a situation with the disciples who were in a boat while Jesus had stayed back on the shore. I am sure it is a familiar story to any who have read the Gospels, but it is such a powerful lesson to us all. The storms started to rage, and Jesus started walking out to the boat and while that is a magnificent image of Jesus and His power the disciples who were looking at this person walk out on the water were scared. Now let us remember these men were with Jesus during countless miracles and had seen the lame healed the deaf receive hearing and the blind their sight. Just hours before they watched as Jesus fed 5000 men not including women and children with only 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. However, when the sea was raging, and their lives were in danger they forgot to call on the one that could help. Even as they were physically looking at their help, their Savior their fear outweighed their faith. Not only did they not think to call out to Jesus, but they also didn’t even recognize Him as He was walking to them. The Bible said, “they supposed it had been a spirit and cried out”. Again, we can see the disciples' fear overruling their faith. As we read down in verse 52, we are told “For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.” Not when I see this my mind goes to unhappy, or even disagree with how the situation was handled, angry but, when I looked it up it seems the meaning here was a lack of understanding. The disciples were not fully understanding who they were following. The Power of Almighty God was not fully comprehended here. What a lesson we can learn from the disciples in this story! I feel it is two parts one in knowing and understanding that God is all-powerful and all-knowing but also remembering that He can and will do it for you too if you let Him. The disciples had seen miracles Jesus had done for the sick and for the hungry but when their lives were in jeopardy it seemed as if they didn’t have faith Jesus could or would save their lives. Sometimes we see God moving and working in other's lives but we lack the Faith to believe He will do the same in our lives and our specific situations. We must believe and know that God has no respect of persons and what He will do for one He will do for another according to the individuals’ faith in Him. We must also remember and believe with our whole hearts that there is nothing too difficult for God to handle from the raging seas to the cancer-riddled body, to an empty cupboard in need of food and anything else that you could possibly be facing today. God is right there ready and able to help, fix, and change whatever situation you find yourself in today all He wants is for you to call out to Him and put your full trust in His almighty power. Are you willing to do that today? Can you let go and remember where to go? The Psalmist said” I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.” Psalms 121: 1-2 KJV

Our History
True Reflections was birthed in our hearts in the spring of 2007. I was at work when God started flooding me with ideas of an outreach call to sinners through written form. I was overwhelmed, in a good way, with all that He was telling me to do. I can’t remember one ounce of work from that day, not the weather, or the traffic. All I do remember is the outflowing of God, telling me exactly what He wanted me to do, to reach the lost. I was so extremely honored and excited. I had always wondered and questioned, before salvation, what my purpose in life was. Then after I was saved, I knew my purpose, to serve God with the whole of my heart, and to share His Gospel and His Love, Live for Him, so others may see Him in me. I still didn’t know what, if any, calling I may have one day. I rushed home that day, so happy to share what God was doing with my children. I went in, and my oldest daughter, (21) was in her room and my youngest (15) was in the kitchen, preparing supper. I called for my oldest to come in the kitchen and blurted out, “You’re not gonna believe what happened to me today.” At the exact same time, my youngest daughter, said the exact same thing to me, bursting with excitement! Oh, The unexplainable Joy!!! She explained how God led her to reach the lost through her writing. She was describing exactly what God was dealing with me about all day long. All I could do was sit there, wide-eyed, shaking my head, and saying, “I know, me too.” I then shared my experience. She had the same reaction that I did. My oldest daughter just sat there and cried because she was seeing the hand of God. We all knew this was God calling us into the ministry. Our first publication went out as a pamphlet and was to continue going out quarterly. Many years passed. We had joys and heartbreak, and many changes came, good and bad. Unfortunately, the bottom line is that over time, we became disobedient in one way or another. The publication stopped. I was convicted over and over to continue. I asked God to forgive me, but I could not bring myself to start writing again. Praise God, He is long-suffering. He never gave up and continued to deal with our heats to continue this work. Only by His Mercy and Grace, are we forgiven of our disobedience. Thank you, Lord!
In obedience to the Lord, our pamphlet became a magazine. We were featuring area churches, community highlights, and local businesses, we had a kid’s korner and a recipe of the month, all
while spreading God’s Word. We never sold a magazine, but did sell ads for local businesses, as to help with the cost of printing. The first publication of True Reflections Magazine was in April 2020. It was spread over many counties in North Carolina, some in South Carolina and Virginia. It went out monthly until June 2022. Due to the cost of printing versus incoming funds, we had to stop at that time. In much prayer in seeking God’s Will for True Reflections, knowing we could not stop permanently, we are taking True Reflections Ministry online now, August 2024. In today's world, we can, and we are trusting that we will reach a multitude of souls via this mode of distribution.
We Praise You and Thank You God for Your Unwavering Love and Your Leadership!

Kids Korner

Hulk has superhuman strength. Bruce Banner, a scientist, has very little strength.

Spider Man has a danger sense. Peter Parker, a photographer/journalist doesn’t know what danger lies ahead.

Captain America has healing abilities, Steve Roger’s, a frail young man, can’t heal himself.

You and me as boys and girls, have no “Superpowers” as ourselves BUT when we are saved by God’s Grace and we live for Him, we have supernatural powers as Christians! We can pray and believe that God will heal the sick. God’s Power keeps us safe from dangers and protects us. Jesus is ALL POWERFUL so as His children we can call on Him for His strength.

Jesus is the first and the last and most powerful of ALL Superheros!!! And He is our Savior!!!
