In Dewey's embrace, the sun kisses the sand,
Where ocean whispers meet the shore's gentle hand.
Seagulls dance in the sky, a symphony of cries,
As waves weave tales beneath Delaware's azure skies.

In Dewey's rhythm, time slows to a gentle flow,
Where laughter echoes, and worries gently go.
Footprints fade as the tide paints a new canvas,
In this coastal haven, where every moment is precious.

From sunrise hues to sunset's fiery embrace,
Dewey's charm leaves an indelible trace.
A sanctuary where souls find solace in the sea,
Dewey Beach, a timeless melody.

Have you ever seen a Mantis Shrimp? This one was recently found along the beach at Fowler Beach. Since it was still alive, it was carefully placed back into the water to hopefully live another day in the wild. The Mantis Shrimp, named for its mantis-like raptorial claws and its shrimplike body, clearly isn’t a Praying Mantis, but neither is it a shrimp. Although shrimp and S. empusa both belong to the Class Malacostraca, Mantis Shrimp are stomatopods and shrimp are decapods. Although mantis shrimp is considered a delicacy in several countries, the trend has yet to pick up in the United States. They live up to 3 years and can weigh up to 3 ounces or about 90 grams, with females typically growing larger than males.
