Suffolk County Police have indicted a suspect, Rex Heuermann, in connection with the Gilgo Beach killings.
The 59-year-old was charged before a grand jury on Friday afternoon with three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of second-degree murder in the deaths of sex workers Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, and Amber Costello, according to court documents.

Patch is on the scene as police arrest Rex Heuermann, the first suspect in a string of killings at Gilgo Beach. Since 2011, at least 11 sets of remains have been found along Ocean Parkway.
"It’s just a house you don’t go to. Trick or treating, you just stay away. You just know that there’s danger there," a neighbor told Patch.
