Did you ever wonder how an Internet radio station works? You start with a dedicated computer and database of songs. In our case, almost 24,000 songs of the most popular genres broke down into music blocks of each genre. Next you need a program to play the songs. We use Zara Radio. Next you have to program the music. Breaks, time & temp, sponsorships and show promos down to the second. Next you have to get the music off your computer and on to the Internet. This is done with a web server like OddCadt V3 or BUTT. Now you need a steaming service. We use Live365. They are the only ones that cover your music licensing for the US, Canada and the UK. Licensing is a MUST! Next you have to get your station out to the listeners. You do this several ways. Embed the Live365 link on your website, forward your website to the Live365 link and then submit that link to all the services promoting Internet radio. Through Live365 you can integrate with Alexa and TuneIn Radio. Now your listener needs a way to hear your station. They can go to your website or use the direct link on their phone or computer. They can use Alexa or any of the services you have registered with. Many have their own apps, like TuneIn Radio. You can even create your own app (our next step) There is also Alexa and you can use an Internet Radio. That's how I monitor the stations streaming signal 24/7.
