A long overdue Art Museum coming to Vegas. 🤗

Las Vegas City Council approved detailed plans for the future Las Vegas Museum of Art and granted 1.5 acres of land in Symphony Park to serve as the site.

Construction of the museum is expected to start no later than February 2027 and is estimated to generate $191 million in economic activity for Las Vegas (including $80 million in wages).

The preliminary concept design for the future Las Vegas Museum of Art is provided by Kéré Architecture.

CALL FOR ART

The Clark County Public Art Office is pleased to announce a call for art for Reassembly Required, an art call that explores the themes of dismantling, assembly, and the creation of new works through manipulating materials. Submissions are due Sunday, July 7, at 11:59 p.m.

To apply, visit:

tinyurl.com/reassemblyrequired

All fields must be filled out on the application form; non-applicable fields must be filled in with "N/A."

Artists working in collage and assemblage are invited to submit their work, which challenges the notion of taking things apart and putting them back together. From cutting up photographs and fabric to assembling action figureheads with needle-nose pliers, the art call examines the creative process of destruction and reassembly. The juror for this exhibition is Jeannie Hua, a Las Vegas-based artist who has shown throughout Clark County and beyond! She primarily works in collage, making her a perfect artist to juror for this exhibition.
The best in Show will receive a $300 gift certificate, and two honorable mentions will receive a $150 gift certificate each. Awards will be distributed to artists in attendance at the exhibition reception.
