She coupled the two styles together for her own signature piano style, "Swing-a-Billy". She was tagged "the Queen of Swing" by Mercury Recording Artist, Mr. Action, Roy Moss and the legendary, Carl Perkins after they worked a show together for the way she plays. She is the only female to our knowledge to ever front the Former Texas Playboys and her first #1 hit was in Western Swing, "Don't Mess With Texas". She took that same idea and wrote "Don't Mess With Me", one is about litter and the other is about trash (LOL) which went to #1 and is still bumping the charts at #4 on NumberOneMusic.com Blues/Jazz ... Kelli received a Billboard Songwriter Honorable Mention for her R&B original, " The Way Love Use to Be" from the "H***y Tonk Swing" CD. She took part of the property adapting the property to a wonderful outdoor amphitheatre, The Kokomo Theatre LLC. The theatres format is "MUSIC & MOVIE with special events associated with their "Concert Under the Stars" series. The Kokomo Theatre is a "drive-in theatre without the cars".
