Love always makes food taste better.

Being the Elevated Bar spot means a couple of things. First, we make almost everything from scratch avoiding the standard “From Freezer to Fryer” methodology of other bars. Second, it means that wings are incredibly important to us!

And we absolutely love hearing that we have the best wings around!

But you don’t just receive those types of compliments. You earn them!

And boy do we try! Our wings are treated with a multi step process to inject each bite with the most flavor!

We brine them. Season them. Smoke them. Fry them. And then season them again.

That’s why we hear so many people say “we didn’t even need sauce for the wings!!” But we’re proud to also offer a variety of scratch made sauces, because even if it’s not needed, dipping is always fun!

Our response to the Michigan Liquor Control Commission dismissing our frustration that their draconian license transfer proccess can take the better part of a year...crushing businesses in the process... is unnecessary and ridiculous.

Thank you for the response, though im not really sure what to do with it. Should I call my single mom employes and let them know, "nope, don't know when you can start working, but liquor control assures me we have already waited 4 months of what could be (an average not a guarantee) of a 6 month process? So we got that going for us?"

"The standard time frame to transfer a license is 3-6 from the day the application was received"

Yes, the issue is that this is standard practice to take this long and the status quo of it be offered up as some form of justification for its existence makes it no better.

There is no reason any entity should move this slow in this day and age. It is an unnecessary burden and barrier to entry to business and job creation that benefits no one except those working in the system wielding the authority.

I challenge the MLCC to do better. I will appear at the next public comment session to make the challenge in person.

But if this process drags out much further, then I will be working very hard to educate the public to the way Lansing really operates. Because while this is just another transfer for the MLCC, it represents dozens of peoples' livelihoods, a handful of people's biggest risks/investments of their lives, and one person's dream to make this world a better place. Please do your best to keep that in mind as you do your job.

We have since cleared Imlay City and Lakevilles schools and over $25k in debt total!

Another day for the kids! All proceeds from Woodchips BBQ, Kookys N Cream, Woodchips Express, Oxford Wing Co. , Eggroll Factory will go to student lunch debt in North Branch! They have almost $6k in debt. We plan on passing that number today and starting on the almost $6k in debt Davison has and the $1300 in debt at Chatfield Elementary alone.

Fox 2 Detroit out today as well!

Business owners... there's still a chance to be a part of this movement! We make multiple announcements and posts for all of the supporters! Great exposure for your biz while doing good for the community! Better than ads!

So eat some food, or order some Kookys (have you tried the healthy Ninjas?!) And support the community and the kids!

Calling on my fellow business owner friends (and non biz owning friends as well)...

The Kids need our help! Woodchips BBQ was able to take care of both Lapeer and Davison schools 2 years ago... but now the problem has BALLOONED and is effecting way too many students.

Our concepts, Woodchips BBQ, Woodchips Express and Kookys N Cream will be hosting a series of fundraiser over the coming weeks to take out all student lunch debt at all surrounding school districts.

This is a HUGE task, and we need help!

Just released updated stats from Beaumont hospitals themselves. In Michigan, 57% of the population has been "fully v@c1inated". 43% of all C0vid hospitalizations in the hospital group are "fully".

So while you can potentially make the argument there is some marginal improvement of these outcomes from the jabs... this is far far off from the claims of 90% or above all hospitalizations being unv@xxed.
