Late-season hunting in Pennsylvania’s Big Woods was an adventure to remember. With rifles allowed for antlerless deer in WMU 4D, we took full advantage of the opportunity. My dad was on a mission to fill the freezer, and the late-season vibe in the Big Woods didn’t disappoint.

We are Deer Hunters

As the years go by we sometimes neglect or forget why/what got us into hunting in the first place. This weekend I was able to actually sit in the woods and walk around the big woods with my dad, the one who got me into hunting. We haven’t actually sat together to hunt in YEARS. Very thankful that he was finally able to put some meat in the freezer after almost a two year dry spell!

We should not put our own standards on ANYONE other than ourselves!

hunt recap: I saw a group of 4 doe run off while driving up to where I wanted to hunt the morning of November 6th. Got setup by 8:30am near where the doe would have been bedded. This buck came in chasing a doe right after it got done raining at 10:30am. I stopped him at 30 yards and made a good shot that lead to a short track job of under 25 yards.
