We moved from Charleston, SC back to my little hometown in Pennsylvania about 6 months ago & believe it or not, learning how to cook in such a small space has been fun & rewarding
People think I run on ramen & pickles, which is only half true :) I have zero professional culinary experience, I make mistakes, am messy & have a lot of learn but cooking makes me happy so I guess I’m doing something right

MINERSVILLE — In 2022, Isabel Miske learned a life-changing lesson from her mother, Michele D’Agostino: You can’t have a burger without a pickle.
Been cooking & eating :)

Roast a turkey breast with me 🙂
1. Brine her — I used: water, salt, maple syrup, lemons, thyme, peppercorns
2. Deck the roaster with carrots, onions, celery, herbs, lemon, garlic
3. Make a compound butter with fresh herbs and seasonings (don’t use much salt if the bird is brined)
4. Dry, separate the skin from the meat & butter the bird, alllll over (buttering the bird leaves the skin less crispy BUT the meat more flavorful, if you prefer a super crispy skin, use oil instead)
5. Roast her — I roasted at 400 degrees until the internal temp was 160. It took about an hour
6. Baste every 15 minutes (if you’re going for crispy skin, rather than basting, brush olive oil on the skin every 15 minutes)
7. REST — she needs rest. 10 mins
8. Slice & SMOTHER with gravy
9. ENJOY! I served with glazed carrots & mash:)

We only had 2 days in London at the end of our trip so we made the most of our time. Learned the train system pretty quickly (I was nervous about this because public transportation doesn’t exist where I’m from), which made it super easy to bounce around the different neighborhoods within London.
We stayed in Shoreditch & it was a VIBE. We also visited Kensington, Soho, Westminster, Tower Hill & the list goes on. London is MASSIVE & each neighborhood is unique, it was fun to explore & get lost! Excited to visit again soon 💕
Hi friends! I’ve been slightly out of touch the past few weeks because I was getting married! We eloped in Switzerland on 9.14.2023! Today we are leaving Switzerland & heading to London for a few days before heading back to the States. I will get back to my regularly scheduled content soon.
